Hump day post

Virgo: After studying your challenging astrological aspects, I decided to do a mid-winter ritual in your behalf. Waking at dawn, I took a frigid hour-long bike ride to the top of Mt. Tamalpais. As I ascended, I murmured a prayer: "I give the energy of this cold, hard labor to Virgos. May it inspire them to meet their own tasks with exuberant stamina." When I began the ride, I was miserably uncomfortable. Within ten minutes, I had broken a sweat and was thoroughly warm. Soon the endorphins kicked in, and the climb to the top was blissful. That's the progression I wish for you.

Had a good night afterall last night. After work, I ran some errands, came home, took a fantabulous shower, ate some grilled cheese and tomato soup, chatted a bit with Tex, then settled in to get some work done. I got 2 1/2 pairs of hairstick prototypes done. This is not the stick shape I'm going to end up with, I don't think, but I wanted to see how some of my ideas would look. All said, they're kind of cool-- essentially glass and crystal kanzashi. The sticks I bought are 7" and square, side-drilled in bayong and hambaba woods... they kinda look like fancy garden stakes. They're thicker than most sticks I've seen-- but for this design, which has some weight to it, I needed sticks that weren't wimpy. They hold up my hair, which falls about 2" past my shoulders, and is neither thin nor very full. I imagine they'd do well in thick hair or curly hair.

Also had very colorful dreams last night. I will say one thing for growing up watching genre shows like Buffy... when I have monster dreams, I don't run and get haplessly eaten. I find the nearest weapon and kill the damn thing. Last night I killed little tan Martian-looking ghoulies that preyed on small children with a strange incantation and a fire ax. Dean Winchester may or may not have been my partner in slayage. What a badass dream.
