Every little thing is gonna be alright

Wow, holy packages, Batman! I got Yule gifts from zenmaster, gsh, & one anonymous person in the last few days. I now have lots of tea, lots of books to read, an interesting new toy, a copy of BSG: Razor, and Vosges' Collezione Italiano. Easily my favorite part of the chocolates? It comes with a booklet on how to properly eat the Rooster chocolates (taleggio cheese + organic walnuts + Tahitian vanilla bean + bittersweet dark chocolate), complete with a diagram of the different zones of the chocolate and where to bite for each step. For your pleasure, I've transcribed the booklet in all its glory.
1. Close your eyes.
2. Take three deep, deep breaths.
3. Start from the top. Bite into the crowning tip of the chocolate. Hold the chocolate on your tongue and press it to the top of your mouth. Feel it melt bittersweetly around your tongue. Begin to eat and you will sense a touch of Tallegio and a nuance for vanilla. Flirt with your newfound acquaintance.
4. Intrigue follows with the 2nd bite; it brings you deeper into the parfums, a heavy and rich texture dotted with toasted walnuts. The aroma is steeped with a thousand complexities, yet there is harmony. As the salt hits the palate it meets the sweetness of the chocolate, the one constantly begging for the other to be complete.
5. The 3rd bite is met with clarity. The profusion of flavors wrapped and intertwined come together to make sense. You are submerged deeply in a moment of 'now' and with this last bite, all you crave is just one more.

Um. Okay. Why do I feel like I just read Laurell K. Hamilton porn? Abby and I were VERY amused. But, to be fair, the chocolates are absolutely out of this world.

Today, I got up (which involved me rolling off the couch, since I fell asleep there last night), got myself together while singing Bob Marley's "Everything's Gonna Be Alright" (courtesy of of seeing I Am Legend last night), and walked down to the bead shop for silver earwires. I picked up three books of stamps so I can send out cards on Monday. I came home and took a nice hot shower with Villainess's Jai Mahal scrub, which smells like sandalwood plus sugar cookies. And I placed a ridiculous order for bead pendants... lapis, sunstone, blue opal, crazy lace agate, plus a bunch of golden swarovski bits. Um, thank god for Christmas bonuses.

One of the pendants is for the first of the artistic collaborations. I think that right now, I'm looking at four to five collaborations. Each one will feature a piece of writing (a piece of fiction or poem), an illustration, and a piece of jewelry. It will all be nicely packaged and auctioned, with the profit (winning bid minus material costs) donated to a pre-set charity (to be determined by the author). And I'm excited about it. You'll definitely recognize some of the writers. Some of the ideas being tossed around are very cool. So... if you responded to me, expect to get an email after the holidays wherein I match up "teams" of writers and illustrators so we can start forming cohesive ideas for each collaboration. Witness my dorky glee.

And now, I make brunch for me and Ariel. We're gonna make fudge later.
