Bounce.

Good morning, LJ! I seem to be in a redonkulously good mood for a Monday. Really, the past two weeks have been just totally great, and I'm feeling so much more myself these days. And as it turns out, the person I really am is someone who is naturally kinda happy and upbeat. I've had friends remark that they're glad to see me so happy again, and I have to agree. I had my time, I grieved, and now? I'm back, and I realize that I haven't really "lost" anything but a stumbling block-- people say that hard times are sometimes blessings in disguise, and it sounds so terribly hokey, but most of the time, it's true. I'm in a really good place for the time being. I got through the hard part, and the rest is gonna still take work, but at least I can enjoy my life while I do it. And right now, my life is bursting with really cool opportunities. Win.

Let's see, le weekend-- I started off by helping Ariel launch Operation Hotness, which included me helping her pick out a scorching hot outfit for an event and a trip to Sephora. I bought the Lorac Greatest Hits CD in warm tones, and I'm really satisfied with it. The pink, gold, and garnet colors are all great on the lids, and the black works surprisingly well as a nice dark liner. The lip color is a pretty brick red with just a hint of blue undertone, and the gloss works well on its own or over the lip color. I'd have liked a slightly more peach cheek color, but this one works fine. My only nitpick is that the highlight color isn't nearly shimmery enough. So I ordered Stila's "Kitten" shade instead, which is hands-down the best highlight shade I've ever used. Plus, I picked up my third Urban Decay Primer Potion tube-- I simply cannot live without it. I didn't buy the Smashbox Fusion Eye and Cheek Palette in Endless, but I was pretty impressed by it. It's a great shimmery neutral palette, and for the price, it's really awesome. It's a great first palette to grab if you're looking for simple and easy makeup. I also liked the NARS lip gloss and stain set. I hardly ever wear lipstick, but when I do, I like stains because I don't accidentally bite it all off my lips. So that was also good. Also, dude, if there were a Sephora closer to me than Columbia, I would totally pick up a part time job around the holidays. Poo.

I also went to a Samhain ritual at Bart and Brandie's, and to the All Seasons Hafla, which was pretty evenly split down the middle with great dancing (Kallisti Tribal and Eugenia represent!) and a little crazy drunken aunt dancing. The venue wasn't spectacular for dancing, and they kept doing rather creative things with the lights, plus there was this fidgety tall guy with ridiculous hair who was the most obnoxious person to sit behind ever (PSA: standing up and sitting back down to take pictures during performances is not only distracting to performers, it might make me want to kill you, so pick a spot and stay in it)... but the food was good, and it's a place to get experience, and plus we're on the flier, so that just makes me all dorkily happy. (Holy run-on sentence, Batman!) I also had some time to just chill out and relax. I cooked and watched tv and took a nice hot shower, and I uploaded a ton of new icons (a good chunk of them from Secretary; make of that what you will). I hung out with Shaun and Jenny for awhile-- we got dessert and watched Black Snake Moan (bizarre!). They have a rule that Sundays are for Sex, and I'm the only person that they'll make plans with on Sundays. I find that oddly touching. :) I got enough sleep, and it was overall a good weekend of battery-recharging goodness.

Tonight, I am working on jewelry. I have one new necklace ready to sell that I really like, and I'm going to work on some variations, as well. I think you'll like 'em, too. Plus, there's writing to be done (I'm working on a poem, gods save us all). I've got a couple of more headspace-y posts a-brewin', too. Now, to find time to get a haircut.

Yay. Just overall, yay.
