I was over today at 8am.

Sign you should have a few more chocolate-covered espresso beans: You mishear "Hi, this is Brad from Cyon Research" as "...Cylon Research" and have to blink and shake your head until the cobwebs clear.

I did not want to get out of bed this morning. I was warm and cuddled up in a perfect position, and it was drizzling softly outside. It's the kind of day I wish I could be in bed with a mug of tea reading through some trashy soft-core historical fantasy in my pajamas and bathrobe. I think I am designating Saturday afternoon for that specific purpose. Aside from that? This weekend is shaping up to be very interesting indeed! :)

Saiidi class was interesting last night. The teacher is an Egyptian guy named Atef, and I understood about 25% of the things he said. It was my first time dancing with any sort of prop other than my zills, and I was nervous enough before he made us each do a 2 minute solo with cane. So... I faked it to my best ability. I think I was also the only tribal girl in the class, which includes Samira Shuruk, a really awesome cabaret/ Egyptian-style bellydancer. I was told that my dancing was fine, but I needed to smile the whole time, and I need to "make-a da flirt." Because the girls, they make-a da flirt. Or something. Anyway, I'm trying to add saiidi to my repertoire so I can get used to handling props while I dance. I figure it'll come in handy when I get my sword. On the plus, though, Flissy and I nailed down the music for our Dec. 2nd performance. Over half of the dancing will be improv. Whee!

BPAL of the Day:

All Souls 2007:: An incense blend that invokes the higher qualities of mercy and compassion, mingled with the soft, sugared currant scent of offertory soul cakes.
Usually, my chemistry picks up all the sweet notes, but I'm getting almost no cakey notes from this at all. This is a very tart incense on me-- frankincense and currant being the dominant notes. It started very floral, but calmed to something pretty, slightly melancholy, and not generally my style.

At any rate, work is keeping me rather busy today. I'm pretty frazzled and feel like I'm being pulled in a million directions with constant interruptions. This isn't really the way I prefer to work. Gragh. Anyway, I should get back to that. Thanks to everybody who's sent me fun emails to break it up a bit!
