Crafting: A degenerative disease
When did it become appropriate to say hello to someone by asking whether or not she is married? I mean, really. What the fuck is that supposed to mean? I only want to say hello to you if there's the possibility I could bang you? This has been happening more frequently of late, and it's just hideous manners. Fucking douchebags. No wonder you're fucking single.
Anyway.
Crafting tea went nicely yesterday. Flissy made awesome tea sandwiches. First off, let me tell you how much my local JoAnne's sucks compared to the one in Columbia. Columbia's had twice the amount of fabric, four times the bead section, and all sorts of bellydance-tastic trims. My JoAnne's regularly runs out of jump rings. Just sayin'. At any rate, I finished a wrap for faire that will soon be turned into a panel skirt. It's gold gauzy material, and I added topaz beaded trim. I also got the same fabric in copper, and that way Flissy and I can have quasi-matching panel skirts for performing. I did not do more than cut my red fabric for the second panel, since there's no longer a time crunch. I sewed armbands instead. Note to self: stretch fabric next time! Ariel and I came home, and after many misfires, I managed to get the hooks just right on my black brocade vest, which she's borrowing for next week. Also of note: I successfully used a sewing machine, and it was fun! Now I'm wondering how difficult it would be to sew a costume skirt with this iridescent Autumny gauze I found. As Abby said, crafting is rather a degenerative disease.
It's been unseasonably cool these last few days. This morning was 56 degrees. Rather chilly for a Baltimore August. Not that I'm complaining. After constant heat and humidity, a few grey skies and drizzle are totally welcome.
And Sky's back from GenCon. Yay. I'm gonna cuddlepounce him tonight and we two sniffly peeps are gonna have some pajamas-and-movie time. Woot.
