Stardust

So, I'm walking to work this morning, and a car pulls over next to me carrying two women fumbling with a map. My first thought is that they were lost and needed directions, and I was right. However, the first thing out of their mouths?

"Are you Russian?"

Aha. Well, good to know the monthly asking has been taken care of.

Anyway, had a lovely date with Sky last night wherein we saw Stardust. It was as if someone said to Neil + screenwriters, "Go ahead and write a completely different movie, but retain all of the characters' names and most of their essences." Not a bad movie by any stretch, just a very different movie from the book. Claire Danes was good, if not radiantly beautiful as I envision Yvaine to be, Charlie Cox was very charming as Tristran (and the longish hair at the end? Rawr). De Niro was funny, Pfeiffer was gorgeous, the jokes were funny, and it was overall a positive experience for a fluffy fairy tale. I'll be interested to read the commentary tracks on what changes were made and why.

I also got my 25 yard tribal skirt from Tribe Nawaar and it's big enough to be used as a tent. Absolutely gorgeous, and I can't wait to spin in it. Plus my L Rose stuff shipped today. Now I'm just waiting on my bra and belt-- crossing my fingers that it will be here by RenFest.

Aside from that, I'm hunkering down for what will surely be a very trying day. Energy just seems off at work this week, and the tension is setting me on edge.
