Ritual Space for Jewelry Making

I started a thread on the BPAL forum regarding creating Deity-inspired and directed art-- essentially, a thread to share works and methods for tapping what, for the sake of this post, we'll simply call The Source. For some, that Source is somewhat akin to a communal mythos, and for others, it's contacting a certain Deity/aspect quite directly.

It's no surprise to me that the day before Lammas, I find myself concerned with taking better care to create sacred space for my non-mundane jewelry workings. Right now, I have a pattern-- I set down a black blanket, arrange my items in a certain way around me to form well, not exactly a circle-- more like a square. I generally drink tea-- specifically, the attuning tea that youvebeenpixied made for me, and I get to work.

While this seems to be working fine, I would prefer to create more of a ritual headspace to further distinguish the sacred-themed jewelry from "just for fun/ beauty" jewelry. This coming month, I'll be doing a massive sort-through of my junk at Dixie's. Figuring what needs to be moved when I move, what needs to go into storage, what can be donated or tossed. And by Mabon, I'll have a new altar set up, and hopefully, proceedings set out to create more concrete sacred space when working on sacred-themed art. In a way, it's both a new beginning and a continuation of work combined.

I'm excited about searching out the new additions to my altar for this purpose-- which incenses and oils work best, which words (if any) carry the most resonance-- generally crafting both a physical space and ritual internal space that is conducive to creative work.
