Sihaya Designs Update

Update!

Sihaya Designs has been updated with new stuff!

Prices range from $10 to $65-- I've got some neat dangly earrings and some funky tribal necklaces this time. Some of the pics didn't turn out as hoped-- I'm going to try to re-photograph some of them tomorrow. If any of you decide to buy, let me know your LJ name in the notes, and I'll toss in somethin' extra.

I gotta say, though-- "Isabella" is my new favorite. It looks *spectacular* when worn. I've seen it modeled on a few different skin hues, and it always looks burnished and warm and completely lovely. I think I'm going to contact the antique bead dealer I met in San Francisco and get more of those crosses, because I want one for myself. Ditto on "Tribal Queen"-- I "test drove" it on Friday to make sure it wasn't too heavy, and I made the mistake of wearing it on a crafts run. So many ladies oohed and aaahed over it! This one can be worn dancing or out and about, but either way, it is NOT for wallflowers!

Anyway, onto the state of commissions:

Brisingamen

The commission: my interpretation of the Brisingamen necklace worn by the Goddess Freya. It was said that when she wore Brisingamen, no man could resist her.

I put together a collar of pressed amber (amber in copal and colophony), and rich russet carnelians in gold filligree bead caps. Made to sit right at the collarbone and really accentuate the neckline. It closes with a toggle necklace. This may not be the final version-- I need to get input from my client. But this is the necklace as it stands.

Athena

The commission: Grey-eyed Athena, wise Athena.

I strung three layers of silvered pearl and sparkling blue-flash labradorite together to make a collar setting for a stunning Bali silver amulet set with two shades of agate. I really like this one, but like Brisingamen, this may also not be the final version.

Aloha, Pele!

Polished lava rock, carnelian, glass, and faceted red jasper.

Ooookay. I never got around to the rest of the San Francisco pics, but I did get to spend quality time with Ariel, and now I'm off to snuggle the boy. Laters!
