Beading update

First and foremost, a very happy birthday to one of my favorite ladies, reedrover!

Secondly, oh noes. It's happening. The first bits of "is it Autumn yet?" are starting to trickle in. As such, I've started looking for the components for Autumn-themed jewelry. I'm planning to use a lot of autumn jasper and serpentine this year, a lot of gold pearl and red pearl. September will mark the debut of three new Goddess necklaces-- Proserpina, Demeter, and Hecate. Plus lots of leaf-themed jewelry. I've got a gigantic list of ideas and supplies to order next month.

As for right now, I'm waiting on a few key supplies. Namely, bead caps and rolo chain, due in by the end of the week. I did, however, receive some of the sparkliest faceted labradorite that I have ever seen, and some stunning agate pendants. To complete tonight: Nut (redux), Shiny Happy People (redux). To complete once I have my bead caps: two different Athena necklaces. I may finish Pele, but that's entirely dependent on whether or not the red jasper pendant I got will work with the other pieces. The red is not quite the shade I envisioned-- I looked long and hard for something sponge-coral colored that was the right shape, and alas-- no dice. Boo to that. So... we'll see how this works out.

One reason to move to San Francisco: the beads in Chinatown are endless. I have never seen so much pearl and amber and coral and turquoise in my life.
