Good weekend!

This weekend was a lot of fun-- dagger_garnet and stridera were in town, so we got all dressed up, grabbed some friends, and went to Zeeba lounge to celebrate. Narrowly missing a torrential downpour, we spent the next several hours having tasty tapas, better desserts (baklava and saffron rose ice cream), drinking lots of wine, and smoking hookahs. There was a cabaret-style bellydancer (Amartia) who was interesting to watch, even if it cemented in my mind that I am most certainly a Tribal girl. What I did not expect was for the bellydancer to pull me up by the hand to dance with her. She didn't expect me to actually know how to dance, either. After a moment, she said, "heh, you're either a dancer or you take lessons." Good to know that I didn't completely embarass myself, especially as I was in heels! Anyway, it was a good night, and I'd love to go back. Tina took lots of pictures, so I'll be sure to post a few when she sends 'em my way.

Yesterday, after a Mother's Day brunch at Sky's, we went to the Walters Art Museum (being from the area, I always have to correct myself from saying "Gallery"), which has suprisingly good collections of ancient Greek, Roman and Egyptian sculptures and jewelry. Lots of beautiful Goddess art, and a growing Asian collection. And gorgeous, gorgeous shells and butterflies. Blue morphos may be my favorite, but Sunset Moths come pretty close, too. And the collector's study room is gorgeous-- full of carefully-carved jewels and intricate bronze statuary.

Tonight, I'm gonna chill out and do some jewelry-work while Sky works on tech stuff. I took an impromptu trip to Beadazzled for a few beads, but there's still a bunch of stuff I'm planning on ordering online, where the beads are much, much less expensive. What I did get were two big ladybugs to finish off a double-strand necklace, more Beadalon, and some shiny copper coin beads. I'm going to get some Adventurine donuts to match the white coral chips, and next week, order rice pearls.

Also, hair is now completely pinked. It is now the color of an azalea bush.
