TGIF!

Virgo:: I was enjoying a leisurely bike ride in a rural neighborhood where I'd never been. The houses were sparsely placed amidst overgrown meadows. The temperature was balmy. My endorphins had kicked in and the fragrance of wildflowers had rendered me giddy. Then my mood shifted suddenly. While rolling downhill on a one-lane road, I hit a speed bump--freakishly, unexpectedly, right in the middle of paradise. Why was it there? My bike stopped cold and I flew through the air, landing awkwardly. The damage was minimal, and the shock was a bit invigorating. Still, I advise you, Virgo, to watch out for and avoid a comparable speed bump out there in the frontier you're exploring. There's no inherent karmic necessity for you to experience an inconvenient interruption like mine. Add 10 percent more caution to your roving and rambling.

Wow, so I've really been spammy lately, LJ. Thing is, I actually have things to say that are not about hair or nasal mucus, it's just that I haven't had the time to really sit and effectively gather my thoughts just yet.

At any rate, the hair is half bright purplish-pink, half very light blonde. And... I don't like it. As weird as it sounds, I think the blonde part looks odd. I'm gonna pink the entire top part tonight, 'cause I think I'd like it better that way. It'll still have a cool multi-tonal effect-- the pink I'm using for the top isn't as blue-toned. And I'm toying with leaving a razor-thin layer of blonde between the pinks for a neat effect when I pull my hair back. Ahh, hair alchemy.

One cool thing about my mom-- she's getting more comfortable with the whole queer thing. Though she had to cancel due to needing a last-minute blood transfusion before her anniversary cruise (don't worry, she's okay-- her iron count was just a little low and they wanted to boost it before she got on the ship), she asked if I wanted to do the Mother's Day thing at the Hippo. Which was... my expression was one of shock, but happy shock. So go team mom.

In jewelry news, I got Sara's wedding present done-- a big circular shell and two strands of gold and peach delicas spaced with gold-painted Czech beads and about fifty tiny freshwater rice pearls. I've found that I like working with pearls and will have to aquire more. I'm building up selling stock because I've been asked quite a lot about showing jewelry, which is exciting, 'cept that at present, I lack lots of jewelry to show. About half of my last sale post sold, but I do have some more fun stuff on the way with a summery beachy theme.

Fun weekend ahead! Tina and her hubby are comin' to town tomorrow, and we're gonna hit up the Inner Harbor for some dinner tomorrow night and spend part of Sunday ramblin' around Baltimore. Good times.
