Happy Screwin' In The Fields Day!

Blessed Beltane, all!

I'm just a smidge cranky because weather.com said last week that it was supposed to be sunny, high of 92. Instead, it's about 72, partly cloudy, chance of rain. Boo.

I also dressed up all pretty-- long, dark brown skirt, spring green tank top-- only to spill coffee down my front fifteen minutes into the day. Genius. Don't worry, it wiped off, but I'm stuck wearing an oversized DDI shirt until it dries.

Today: 2, Christina 0.

I am, however, wearing an experimental necklace I made last night out of gold-plated chain, gold-plated spiral links, various types of shiny gold-flecked and opalized pale pink glass, and a mother of pearl focal pendant. I'm pretty pleased with it-- it's delicate and shiny and eye-catching. Took about 3 1/2 hours to make (hand-linking takes forever), but I'm pleased enough with the outcome to make a few to sell. Tonight, I start on bailunrui's commission-- Mediterranean shades and hammered silver pendants. Am now up to six containers' worth of beads-- raspberrypie got to see me unpack my latest order last night when she picked up her purchases, and it's seriously cracktastic fun for me. I think it says something about the nature of obsession that I already have $50 worth of beads in my next order planning cart. I've been really into disc and coin shapes.

Tonight is also dinner at Skyler's-- a little smaller with his mom out of town, but dinner with friends is a good tradition, nonetheless. Tomorrow I'll be in Detroit for a work conference, and it'll be a long, exhausting, but hopefully informative day.

...and that's pretty much it for today. Got thoughts comin' down the pike about Twilight Alchemy Lab oils, but I think they deserve their own post.
