Late!

BPAL of the Day:: The Knave of Hearts-- Crushed roses and blackcurrant tarts.

Very gourmand-- this is the smell of a cooling tart full of tangy red berries. The currant note is prominent, and mouth-watering. For a bakery-style scent, this doesn't at all go cloyingly sweet, as I had feared-- the crust is a dry, moist crust. The rose is very faintly in there, but if I didn't know it was listed as a note, I probably wouldn't have been able to pick it out-- it acts as a satin mid-note that smooths the scent and gives it a subtle complexity. Pretty.

Whew, sleepy. I definitely overslept this morning-- I rolled over to see my alarm reading 8:32, which is a problem when the latest I get up is usually 7:45. I got up, threw on my clothes, tossed my bellydance stuff in my bag, brushed my teeth, and ran out the door with wildwoman hair and not a stitch of makeup on. I rolled into work at 9:05 and proceeded to make myself presentable in the bathroom. I'm only now beginning to wake up after a cup and a half of coffee, but I still have some darkness going on under the eyes. Gosh, I zonked pretty hardcore last night-- usually, my natural body clock wakes me up around 7:30 on weekdays.

I had a lovely dinner with reedrover last night. We went to Olive and Sesame, where there was good conversation and I had my two favorite sushi rolls, Baltimore and Crispy Spicy Tuna, and a heaping helping of edamame. It was good to spend time with Colleen, and I look forward to doing it again soon.

Lost was okay-- I'll probably have to watch it again, as I was busy anal-retentively sorting my beads into color-family boxes. I now have four boxes of beads-- Mediterranean shades, petal shades, Autumn shades, and black/white. Expect this to grow eventually. At any rate, I made a few things last night, and I really like the fish earrings I made. They're 16mm dangling A/B crystal fish hanging beneath two Capri blue beach glass treated beads. Very cute, and I shall call them Carp Diem. Because I'm a dork. But with the exception of a few odds and ends in the mail, all the stuff I need for my inital round of stuff is here, so expect a bunch of saleable dangly earrings and memory wire bracelets in about a month or so.

Okay-- work time. I leave you with a neat link from lapetiteflower: The Art of Being a Redhead.
