Virgo:: It's the perfect time to kill off old habits that drag you down and to sever bad connections that bring out the worst in you. Therefore, I suggest you make an undercover search-and-destroy visit to the murkiest parts of the underworld. When you get back, invite skeletons to come out of the closet and monsters to crawl out from beneath the bed for a nice long heart-to-heart talk full of tough love. And in general, don't you dare avert your gaze from any song and dance that might half-scare you and half-inspire you into triumphing over evil. P.S. In every decay there'll be beauty; in every loss there'll be a glimmer of future joy.

Yeah. Welcome to my past few months, Rob. Glad you've caught up.

Blessed Ostara! Unfortunately, yesterday was much warmer than today, and that's a little bit depressing. I'm looking forward to next week's warm-up. I started off today with a very nice email from a new reader that I haven't yet responded to, but hello nonetheless! As this entry can well attest, my attention span is a little fragmented at present, but I will respond.

BPAL of the day: 51 -- Luminescent, glowing, and otherworldly: green mandarin, neroli, honeydew, white amber, guava, freesia, white and green musks hovering over desert scrub, smashed wood, and the dry, biting scent of night air over the Groom Lake salt flats.

Mmm. Reminds me very much of Hungry Ghost Moon. It's the very subtle wood undertone, white musk, and citrus. Although HGM had grapefruit, the green mandarin here gives the same candied citrus note, tempered by honeydew that smooths over the scent, but doesn't overpower it. A really nice daytime or summer night scent-- not at all dry or biting. Fresh and sweet without being cloying. Also, hurrah for neroli not ruining this scent for me!

I find myself with nothing much to say today. Last night, I attended a dinner party at Skyler's with Chris, Sarah, his mom & sister, roommates, friends, etc. There was lots of good food-- BBQ chicken, mashed potatoes, salad, asparagus, lemon meringue pie. We watched Firefly, and all was not as awkward as I had feared. So that's something, at least.

Other than that, I'm plotting out beading stuff. Part of my current order is Chinese-style coins with drilled holes, and I'm planning on making bellydance earrings from them. Maybe a necklace, if it turns out okay. I've got specific pieces for specific people in the works, too. I'm just twiddling my thumbs and obsessing until the components are actually in my possession. Man, the creative spark is itchy.
