Odds and ends.

liminalia quizzed me.

1. Which male and which female celebrities do you think are the hottest?

Hmm, I tend to like more natural, genuine-looking women. Rachel Weisz is completely hot to me. I used to be hugely into Angelina Jolie, but then she got all anorexic-thin, and that's not so much hot to me. I also have a total weakness for Latinas-- Salma Hayek... yes, please. And Sarah Shahi, who is Hispanic and Persian. And there's something innately hot about women who completely own their sexuality-- I'd still do Madonna, even now. And Monica Belluci. Oh yes. As for the gents, I tend to like a rough-edged charm. Clive Owen, Henry Ian Cusick, and Ewan McGregor top the list, and I think that's partially the accents. Other than that, I do have a weakness for pretty boys. Yep-- Jensen Ackles and Jake Gyllenhaal, I'm looking at you.

2. Where would you ideally like to be in 10 years? (And I don't necessarily mean what city.)

10 years from now, I'll be 33. Ideally, I'll be established in my profession (I want to say writing, but who knows what life might throw at me) and I'll be living in a house that I own. I would like to be married or in a solid relationship, since I am generally a relationship-oriented person, but by no means do I want something simply "comfortable." I always figured that I'd have my first child around 30 if the timing is right, so maybe I'd have a three year-old running about. Regardless, I want financial stability, a warm place in my family/community, a reasonably interesting vacation every year, and a sense of personal fulfillment.

3. Tell me one thing about yourself that might surprise me.

I was a very devout Christian until age 15.

4. Tell me about the first time you realized you liked girls.

I'm pretty sure it was Maddonna's "Express Yourself" video, actually. I was probably 13 or so. Maybe 14. I didn't know that I liked girls in a general sense yet, but I knew there was something specifically different about the way watching that video made me feel.

5. Sihaya for President! What's your platform?

Basic human rights. Equality between the genders. Non-dogmatic law. Gay rights. I probably wouldn't get elected, of course.

As it turned out, marinatempest and I made it to Beadazzled just in the knick of time. Gotta say-- the salesladies at the Baltimore location were a bit too hoity-toity for my tastes. I blew a considerable wad of cash yesterday, and I felt super-rushed. At any rate, I bought carnelian rounds, lots of fancy Japanese seed beads (shades of blues and greens, petal-lusters), and a couple baggies of specialty beads for individual gift bracelets. Plus lots of memory wire. They had no blue goldstone, so I'm going to have to order some online. Still, I'm getting a better visualization of the necklace that I want to make-- 6mm rounds interspersed with rhinestone-inlaid silver stars. A lot sparklier than I'm used to wearing, but perfect for one particular dress.

God, it's only 1:30. Today is not my best day ever. I'm hanging with Anna tonight, then I'm going to take a long, hot shower. I am completely cranky at the moment, and it's starting to show.
