Mismash!

So, I'm going to be an aunt, of sorts.

No, The Dildo Thief is not pregnant. Though that's where my brain went to first when my mother called, and it was also the first thought that hit many of my friends when I told them. Which is... sad, kinda.

My miscreant stepbrother, Adrian Joseph, is gonna be a daddy. The world? It's doomed. Or maybe just that poor, poor child. I wouldn't entrust the care of a goldfish to that nutter, much less a miniature human. Dude seriously has the emotional maturity of a fruit fly.

In other news, intern is dressed up today, and looks to have used hair gel of some sort. Is continuing with the shy smiling and shuffling away. Innnteresting.

Last night was spent with Anna, in pursuit of pizza and eye candy. Much of both were had. Tonight is to be spent with Ariel, doing rune readings and being cooked for. I'm keepin' busy-- this weekend looks chock-full. Hanging out, coffee dates, bead-hunting, Tribal Cafe in DC. Lots of low-key, high-fun goodness. Very good for de-stressing.

I've also been keeping up with my paper journaling / communication project, and it's a pretty restorative thing to have a regular date with myself. I feel like I'm getting a lot figured out, as the first step in fixing a problem is understanding it. Acknowledging issues that I've had in the past doesn't make me a bad or weak person-- on the contrary, I feel stronger because I'm not denying them, and not denying them means that I can commit to a game plan to fix them. Also-- I had a kind of eureeka moment. I don't need anyone else's agreement or validation to know that I am making positive changes in my life and my communication style, so it doesn't matter one bit to me if someone else believes that I'm capable of doing so or not. That realization-- it was so freeing. I am making changes, and the proof, as they say, is and will be in the pudding.

Anyway, that's all the news that's fit to print. Work calls-- my duties are expanding, which means I'm spending a lot of time learning about projects and the equipment we use. It's pretty time-consuming. Oh! I sent a package to Lawrence, Kansas today-- sadly, it did not contain a magical Colt. Sadness.
