In 2006...
1.) Where did you ring in 2006? Chez Skyler. Drinking far too much Frontier red at the party. I may or may not have fallen off the couch.
2.) What was your status by Valentines Day? I was doin' fine. I had a fabulous Valentine's Day.
3.) Were you in school (anytime this year)? Nope.
4.) How did you earn your keep? I started working for an orthotist, then quit that thankless job and started doing books at Dirdim. Overall- upgrade.
5.) Did you have to go to the hospital? Yep. Stupid kidneys.
6.) Did you encounter the police? Not that I recall.
7.) Where did you go on vacation? What is the vacation of which you speak?
8.) What did you purchase that was over $500? Nothing, at least not all in one go. Christmas gifts, maybe?
9.) Did you know anybody who got married? Yep. A Mike and a Christina. I know-- stab me in the face, why don't you? Actually, I'm kinda glad I didn't have to go to many weddings this year.
10.) Do you know anybody who passed away? A few people from my old neighborhood, but otherwise, not really.
11.) Have you run into anybody you graduated high school with? Yep. Ariel and I became close friends again.
12.) Did you move anywhere? Nope. Thankfully.
13.) What sporting events did you go to? One baseball game.
14.) What concerts did you go to? Ben Folds, Gaelic Storm, The Rogues & Mediaeval Baebes!
15.) Are you registered to vote? Yep.
16.) If so, did you do your patriotic duty on Nov. 7? Yep.
17.) Where do you live now? Pikesville, MD.
18.) Describe your birthday. Nothing huge. A couple of good friends sent cards and flowers, and I had dinner at The Cheesecake Factory.
19.) What's the one thing you thought you would never do but did in 2006? Say no to something I really wanted because it was for the best at the time. Vague, but hey. There it is.
20.) What is one thing you regretted this year? I said a couple of really harsh things. I mean, I believe them to be true, but I could have said them more gently.
21.) What's something you learned about yourself? I don't always have to do it myself. I can cry with friends and not be weak.
22.) Any new additions to your family? No, but two of my cousins are now pregnant.
23.) What was your best month? Probably February.
24.) What from pop culture will you remember 2006 by? The year of the Hilton, Lohan, and Spears fiascos. Ugh.
25.) How would you rate this year with a scale from 1 (shitty) to 10 (excellent)? 5. There was tons of drama, tons of pain and tears. But also some really, really good friends that got me through it. I love you guys so much.
In 2007...
1. Will you be looking for a new job? Hopefully not. I like it here, for the most part.
2. Will you be looking for a new relationship? Maybe. The jury's still out. Anyway, I doubt I'm going to be committed relationship girl for awhile.
3. New house? I might move, but we'll see.
4. What will you do different in '07? I will show gratitude more often. I will take less shit from people, and I will not let others dictate my personal growth. I will understand that when people do nice things for me, it's because they like me, not because they want something from me.
5. New Years resolution? See above.
6. What will you not be doing in '07? Staying in an unhappy relationships.
7. Any trips planned? Maybe. They're not planned yet, but I've had some intriguing offers.
8. Wedding plans? Hell no.
9. Major thing on your calendar? Making sure I take a vacation this year.
10. What can't you wait for? Nothing in particular. I can't really think that far ahead.
11. What would you like to see happen different? I'll get a car, and that will solve most of my problems.
12. What about yourself will you be changing? My hair. I mean, don't I always?
13. What happened in '06 that you didn't think would ever happen? Didn't I already answer this?
14. Will you be nicer to the people you care about? I'll do my best, as long as none of them are particularly horrible to me. And if they are... I'll do my best not to be mean. I'll just disconnect myself entirely.
15. Will you dress differently this year than you did in 06? Hopefully, more money will equal nicer clothes, so perhaps.
16. Will you start or quit drinking? Nope.
17. Will you better your relationship with your family? We have a great arrangement. I see them about twice a month, and it works out well for us both. I'll keep that up.
18. Will you do charity work? Some. My work does charity stuff.
19. Will you go to bars? Probably, though it's generally not my scene.
20. Will you be nice to people you don't know? Sure.
21. Do you expect '07 to be a good year for you? It's gotta be better than 2006, so I have hope.
22. How much did you change from this time last year till now? I learned to stand more on my own two feet. Adapting to changes still isn't my strong suit, but I'm getting better.
23. Do you plan on having a child? God, I hope not!
24. Will you still be friends with the same people you are friends with now? I hope so.
25. Major lifestyle changes? Not that I forsee.
26. Will you be moving? Maybe.
