MD Renfest Mediaeval Baebes Weekend planning
So, as far as I know, there are people coming in from all over the goddamn country to be at the Renfest on September 30th. I just figured that I would consolidate info, considering cell phones don't really work on the Faire grounds, so a little foreplanning is probably a good idea.
I'm planning on arriving around 10:30-11:00 that day. Skyler is driving, and we're bringing my houseguest,
eiluned, along for the ride.
The Mediaeval Baebes schedule for 9/30 is as follows (all times at the Royal Stage):
2:00 - 2:45, 3:45 - 4:30, 5:15 - 6:00. I plan to be at at least two of these, because they are my main reason for being super-excited about faire on this day.
The other act that I want to catch at least once are The Rogues. Their schedule is 1:00 - 1:30 (White Hart Tavern), 2:00 - 2:30 (Fortune Stage), 5:00 - 5:30 (White Hart Tavern), 6:00 - 6:30 (Dragon Inn). I know thateiluned is a huge Rogues fan, plus they're the ones with the really hot bodhran player. Thumbs up. Not to mention that the Pyrates Royale generally lead into the Rogues, and I like them a lot, too.
Scheduling could be tricky because of the sheer number of people attending that day that I want to see.belladonnastrap is coming down from NYC, tennyo is coming up from DC, madmoisellestar is bringing cake, and I assume I'll be seeing regulars like lavender_liz and sunflwgal, and probably bumping into yancentric. Not to mention tamnonlinear is hosting a slew of people that I want to meet, since I've heard so much about them already. If there are after-faire festivities, it will be with this group.
All of that said, a rough outline:
I know a lot of people will want to do the pub sing at the end. If that's the group census, I might do that, too, but I wouldn't mind schmoozing down towards The Dragon Inn, either.
That should leave a chunk of time in the morning and around lunch to wander around and look at vendors. Sadly, I don't know if I'll be able to afford a new bodice. I wanted to get a green one. That might just have to wait, what with me switching jobs and all. Still, if I'm super careful with money, I might just be able to eek one out. We'll see.
