Right.

I woke up this morning to find our backyard birdbath completely overturned. Now, I know that it was not overturned when I went to bed last night. I watered the garden at about 7pm, and so I got a good look at everything. I even filled the birdbath myself. It's a heavy birdbath-- I don't think a cat or a raccoon could have knocked it over.

I inspected the front porch pretty carefully. There were two shards of glass-- one on the corner of each top step-- that I don't remember. There was also a round cut of tree bark hanging like a wreath atop a nail over the faucet that I would should have noted when I spent 20 minutes futzing with the hose last night. Of course, it's right next to a big thorny rosebush, which, admittedly, had my attention.

So. Of course this is the week where everyone I know is out of town, right?

Okay, Dixie will be home tomorrow. Just one more night. I'll sleep with the porch light on and a shovel next to my bed.

In better news, there are two special lunacies up at BPAL.

The Dark Moon is a time of secrets and hidden truths, of veils and binding, justice and revenge. It is sacred to the Crone, and to Gods and Goddesses of magick, death, and mysteries. The Black Moon has many meanings, but in any incarnation, it signifies a swelling of power. To us, it is the Blue Moon’s dark sister.

Black Moon: Beth's Creation-- The absence of light: motia attar, black orchid, mugwort, English pear, cucumber, blue lotus, jonquil, massoia, calamus and crystal musk.

Schwarzer Mond: Brian's Creation-- The keeper of secrets: opoponax, Tunisian black amber, night musk, antique patchouli, zdravetz, terebinth, myrrh, and Pimenta racemosa.

Man. Okay, I think I'm just going to acquire decants. They both look so good, though. Something tells me that Black Moon will be very much like Blue Moon, and if so, I can always trade for a bottle. Right?

Well, the Halloween scents should be going up on Monday, so I can waffle a little more, yes? (RenFest and BPAL Samhain all within three days. I'm going to be so broke for the next two weeks. Oh well.)
