Things that make me happy, Monday edition.

I'm having a moment. At least half of this is horomones, and I realize that. Still, there are other things lodged pretty deep under my skin right now that I need to figure out how to deal with more gracefully, because I don't think yelling and accusing and beating other peoples' sacred cows the way I feel they've stepped on mine is the way to go. It would certainly make me feel better, but it's not the best thing overall. Still, I get the feeling that this Fall is all about separating the wheat from the chaff.

Regardless, I need to get my chin back up. Therefore, I remind myself that things are generally going to be okay, even if the landscape is sure to look a little different. And that I like things in this world, even if they're petty, shiny, material things.

For one, the sweaters I ordered came in. It was a mixed bag. I'm going to send two of them back, because they're a lot thicker/bulkier than they appeared to be, and if you've got a large chest, the last thing you need is more bulk. I have learned my lesson, and will stick to cardigans, of which I bought the most adorable one ever in pumpkin orange with adorable oversized buttons. That lace-back sweater is also really cute. It could stand to be a little longer, but it doesn't look bad at all. And Blue London Jeans look really cute on me. I may have to buy a few more pair.

For two, we are only one month away from the Pumpkin Spice latte at Starbucks. I've started getting cinnamon hazelnut lattes in the meanwhile.

For three, BPAL's Harvest Moon 2006 is pretty. It's not the bestest thing in the world, but it's nice, and vaguely apple-y. It smells like harvest air and ivy in an orchard. It's certainly whetted my appetite for Samhain.

For four, Femaledictions is teaming up with DarkCandles, and they're doing more body products-- including shampoo bars in Loot, my favorite apple fragrance, and soap in Hell's Kitchen, which is absolutely to-die-for spiced applesauce. Add to that that it's time for a Merry Hallowe'en shea butter soap, and perhaps an Irate Jack O'Lantern, and I think I'm set. Plus, Fantasy Bath is going to debut more fall scents the week before my birthday. I say yay, because that's right about the time I'd be putting in my next order. I must have more Cinnamon Girl.

For five, I had a lot of fun dancing on Friday night, despite wanting to stay at home with a pint of ice cream in my PJs. I also had a good time with Yancy on Saturday night, even if I did spill my soy sauce all over my shirt.

For six, I ordered a hip scarf for bellydance. It's orange, with gold coins. I'll probably get it by next week.

For seven, I drove again yesterday-- all the way up Richie Highway and back. I did really well. The only thing I have to be more careful about are my turns-- they can be a little abrupt. But still. I'm actually kind of jazzed to get on 695 this Thursday.

For eight, I've been doing a lot of leisure reading, and I have a backlog of reviews to catch up on.

For nine, RenFest this weekend. I'm looking forward to regaining a sense of wonder and hanging out with some truly amazing women.
