Friday Morning List Post.
Virgo:: Once upon a time, you asked a certain someone for a blessing. Instead, he or she blasted you with a curse. The debilitating blow of that bad magic hit you right smack in the place that was ripe for the blessing you requested. What a tragedy! Now, at last, you're wise and strong enough to defeat the power of that old curse. Here's the first step: Understand that the seed of the blessing you once needed (and still need) is hidden within and obscured by the curse. Figure out what that blessing is, and it will reveal to you what to do next. (P.S.: The French word for "wound" is blessure. It suggests that blessing can come from wounding.)1. Well. That sounds vaguely ominous.
2. I noticed two letters that my roommate had put aside for me this morning. So I have letters to read from Latina & Jeffrey when I get home. Yay. Letters make me very, very happy.
3. I have two BPAL parcels in-route to me. Hungry Ghost Moon and Blood Moon, which I won in an auction to replace my strangely AWOL bottle. It's such a subtle fall scent-- I love it.
4. I'm in a very cuddly mood. I'm going to go home and put on my pjs and cuddle a pillow.
5. Viva la payday.
6. I had a dream last night where I was making out with Firefly / Serenity's Simon. Mmmm. Good dream. And, tangentially-related,
7. I pulled a muscle in the arch of my left foot. Believe me when I say owwww.
8. Saw Tristan & Isolde last night. Pretty costumes, tight plot, great actor playing Lord Marke. Just wanted to hug James Franco and say "cheer up, emo kid," though. Eh. It's okay. I wouldn't enjoy having to pretend to like girls, either, if I were you, James. PS-- omg, haircut please.
9. Bought the new Pride & Prejudice in spite of Keira "God Dust" Knightley. I admit I have a weakness for period pieces and they guy who played the new Mr. Darcy-- while not Colin Firth-- was still pretty hot.
10. I went to happy hour with my parents last night. My mother called me 'gorgeous.' It really weirded me out. See, my sister has always been considered "the pretty one," and I was just "the smart one," "the weird one," or "the gayish one." I mean, even as recently as two weeks ago, when my mother was told that her daughter was really pretty and she responded, "who, Andi? I know." Then the person looked kind of confused. It's just... odd for me. I was a total late bloomer-- I grew up a total ugly duckling and I don't have the bleach blonde / perfectly manicured / hairsprayed / tanned / booty shorts look that my mother thinks is ideal. So it really threw me. I mean, in a way, I've always been looking for my parents' approval-- but never about my looks. It's just sitting really strangely with me. I don't know how I feel about it.
