Phloof!
I have poodle hair. My hair looks like it belongs on some spoiled, persnickety creature named Fluffy or Cinnamon. You see, after my shower, I braided my hair, thinking it would save time in the morning. I must have tossed and turned a lot, because when I woke up, all the braids were fuzzy, and I had to un-do them. Well, I haven't rebraided yet, because the result was hysterical. I have big, puffy 80's hair. It looks like I brushed out the work of a crimping iron. It's um, interesting.
Last night was so very relaxing. I came home and cleaned my room-- it needed it. I was able to toss out two jumbo trash bags of clutter and clear the floor. After that, I lit more candles than a cathedral and some clove incense and just soaked it all in. I feel more centered than I have in weeks. As a side note, I am so happy that I hoarded my two Yankee Candle "Witches' Brew" votives from last year, because the scent blended perfectly with the incense. It's a sweet patchouli with spices. I'm going to have to pick up some more this year. Mmmm.
Tonight, Skyler's play opens-- Beyond Therapy. It's at 8:00 at Mobtown Theater, $10.
Tomorrow night, I'll be dancing at Friday Night Swing. Skyler won't be there, but I'm going with the regular gang, plus
bailunrui and
tamnonlinear. If you're interested, come along. In amusing news, someone from the BPAL forum is in my bellydance class, and she's coming to FNS tomorrow night, too.
And in conclusion, yay, it rained last night. The air has been a little less oppressively hot, and when it's overcast, it feels that much closer to Autumn. But there's another reason I'm glad it's been raining. Two weeks ago, those massive storms created a miniature pond in the park through which I walk on my way home. Right in the middle of a dirt path, might I say-- mighty inconvenient. Still, last week, I noticed that the water seemed to be moving. I looked closer, and it was filled with hundreds of black tadpoles. I've been watching their progress-- now they're a little more green, and starting to get spots. However, the hot sun has shrunk the puddle to half its size, and the tadpoles were practically piled on top of one another as their pond dried up into mud. I was seriously about to walk over with a few big buckets of dechlorinized water if it got any worse. But it rained, which should give them some more breathing room. So there's that.
