A quiet evening at home.

We all know how I positively cannot resist anything that is either shiny or good-smelling, right? Right.

Now, before I go further, a disclaimer. I know from a Pagan perspective, pre-made spell kits are generally bunk. To be successful (and to further studies), you should gather your spell components and charge each one with your intent before proceeding, because your effort is what makes the spell actually work. If you just buy a kit and follow the instructions to the letter, chances are that the only thing you'll have accomplished is wasting a fair bit of money. Now, on to the shiny.

I found a new site to play with today. That site is www.magickalblends.com/. They have evocative incenses, herb-infused concecrated oils, botanical milk baths, jeweltone hand-dipped tapers, shimmering massage oils, finely-ground gem powder as fine as stardust. I think I may decide to get a milk bath, maybe some odds and ends. I do love to try new things.

It's the kind of thing that tickles the imagination. It appeals to my sense of whimsy, I guess-- the part of me that wants to believe in faeries, that revels in a haze of fantasy. It's escapism. Fanciful delights.

I'd intended to go to Skyler's tonight, but that didn't happen. Instead, I took a long, hot bath until my fingers got pale and pruny. The water was a deep, shimmering purple, full of cellophane stars, and smelling of violets. I lathered my hair in juniper shampoo and lay so still that the water became as reflective as glass. It felt wonderful-- I haven't had any time to relax of late, and it felt good just to take an hour to be quiet. To be aware of sensations.

I've got some Japanese sencha brewing, and a few chores to do. I have to get packages ready for mailing, and I have to figure out how to do laundry, using this positively antique washer. I might make myself some eggs and sausage and fall asleep in front of the television. That sounds positively decadent to me. I haven't had me time in so long.
