God is not up this early.

One-day weekend, six-day workweek for me. Yep, it's Monday and I'm at work. Splendiferous.

Saturday night, Mike, Ashley, Heather, and I saw Jarhead, which I liked quite a bit. I think I liked it so much because it was a human story more than a political one, and it told the story well. I will have deeper thinky-thoughts on it later, but until then? Jaaaaake. No, seriously. Ohmageez. Santa hat. Santa hat. Also, as a minor spoiler? When he looked directly at the camera and said hi to me, I waved back. Because I am a dork.

Yesterday, the plan was to see two potential new homes and go to a dance class. Skyler and I did not make it to the dance class, and I only saw one house. Why? Because Skyler is a deer magnet. Let me 'splain. He has now been in three deer-related car accidents. During this one, we were heading up I-795 in the left lane. I hear him go, "whoa, there," and I looked up. It was a deer, getting up out of a grassy median and stumbling directly in front of the car. He slowed down to avoid hitting the deer, but the girl behind us was following too closely and rammed us twice. I actually squeaked a bit as warm liquid sprayed my face, but luckily it was just coffee. Anyway, Skyler's fender is completley screwed-- poor Moonshadow will be in the shop for about a week. I feel worse for the deer, though. It had already been hit on the other side of the road, one of its back legs was completely crushed. It made it up the embankment on the other side, but it won't live long.

I did see the house in Baltimore, though. It'll be $550/month overall, and if I chose it, I'd be choosing it for location, because it's right in the middle of my favorite part of the city. I could pay that, but I don't know how much money I'd have left over afterwards. Overall, it wasn't bad-- the room was smallish, but the house was very clean, and my two potential roomies seemed innocuous enough. I'm going to see the house in Pikesville on next Sunday, now, which will be considerably cheaper. The woman there, Dixie, essentially wants a housemate and someone to take care of her parrot while she's away. I sincerely hate birds, but for very cheap rent, I might just suck it up and deal. I'll probably make my decision by next Tuesday, after I've given it some thought. Then the job search begins. It's deep breathing time.

And I am sick. My throat is swollen and ouchy, like I swallowed glass in my sleep. I got down some Vitamin C capsules, but my body balked when I tried echinacea. Those capsules got stuck in my throat, and I threw them back up. Today is not my best day ever.
