Free Will Astrology for the week of October 13, 2005
Also astrology-related, I played around with Alabe.com's natal chart generator. First of all, I'd like to say that part of this seems a little odd to me, since the last time I had my chart done, my rising sign was Aries. And I can be very Aries-like. This time, however, there is significantly more Leo. Interesting tweak.

Very attractive and popular, your charm helps you to get your own way and prevents others from getting angry with you. "Peace and harmony at all costs" is your battle cry. I think about half of this is true. I do prefer peace, but not at any cost. I do, however, have a tendency to smooth over ugliness. I don't think anything about me is particularly aristocratic. I'm a South Baltimre girl through and through. I can, however, tend towards vanity and laziness.

A am very Virgoan in that I am super critical, always analyzing. I'm detail oriented in the extreme, and I worry to the point where it affects me physically. On the other hand, many Virgos are high-strung and/or meek. I'm neither.

I am often my own catalyst. I do work hard to maintain respect, but sometimes, I do get discouraged when I feel that that work isn't being acknowledged. I hate, hate, feeling as though I'm being taken for granted, and I go all sorts of sarcastic when that happens. I take it to heart, and yes, I am very stubborn.

I used to have a very strong sense of morality. Now, for the most part, I see that as something very relative. I do try to look outside myself more now than I ever had before, and though I can be self-righteous, I've never been preachy. I can tend towards idealism every now and again, but then I get boot-slammed right back into slightly-grimy realism. I do demand to be able to experience things fully, that is true.

For everyone who ever said to me, "I wish you would be more open with me," I'd like to give that assessment a big Wordy McWord. I tend to express in writing, so I can process it-- that's my way of getting things out so I don't become a big ball of repressed angstiness. However, yeah. I can be all about the reluctance and the stubbornness. If it comes down to something I'm passionate about, I will fight tooth and nail.

I don't know if I will ever get married for that very reason. It used to be that getting married was a dream. Now it's a really permanent committment. That said, just because I may be hesitant doesn't mean that others, regardless of gender, should not enter into contractual committments (civil unions, marriages, whatever terminology works for you) if they so choose.

You will consciously seek out many different contacts with others throughout your life. Many of these will be of very short duration, not necessarily because you're fickle, but just because you always seem to be more excited by the prospect of meeting someone new rather than prolonging your present relationships. You will be well known to neighbors and relatives, partly due to your curiosity about what they're doing -- you delight in keeping up-to-date about the latest news (and gossip).
Looking back, last year has been a period of extreme change for me. Right now, I don't see it so much as being excited to meet someone new as not being afraid to take chances on new constructs, new emotions, new experiences. I've limited myself for the sake of safety, love, and others' needs for so long that I often forget my own peripheral view. I need my brain to be in constant motion, constantly tasting new things, new and beautiful and strange experiences. I think that's part of my journey as a writer-- to keep that vitality.
