Time for some thrilling heroics.

Still working on poetry, and reworking old short stories. Those of you on my writing filter should be seeing snippets here and there, and a revised version of the poem I posted earlier this week.

Until then, I'm immersing myself in fandomonium. I've been browsing Firefly / Serenity goodness. So far, the best of what I've seen is this:

11th Hour Art:: really nicely-done fan-made gifts and apparel with a digital art edge. Better than the stuff you tend to see on Cafe Press shops, the shirts are really cool, and I like the mousepads, too.
Big Red Button:: cool bumper stickers and buttons for Browncoats.
Companion Academy Fencing Team Shirt:: I thought this was really fannish and geeky in a non-blatant way. I particularly like the tag-line of "fast like a freak."
Custom Serenity postage stamps:: Dude. That's just neat.
Finding Serenity: Anti-Heroes, Lost Shepherds and Space Hookers in Joss Whedon's Firefly:: An anthology of critical essays on Firefly and Serenity. Academia Girl says count me in. I'm going to have to pick this one up.
Firefly messenger bag:: I like this a lot, actually.
Cartoon!Jayne gifts:: Really adorable stuff with Jayne & Vera. The tag line is "this is my very favorite gun." Hee.
Pretty Cunning:: Unexpected Firefly-related designs. I liked "Slim's Used Spacecraft Sales."
Shiny Shirts:: Cool illustrated tees.

In other news, David Gray's Life in Slow Motion came in the mail, and I've been listening to it on repeat. It's so inutterably perfect. It's just the thing for this strange headspace I've been in-- wistful and hopeful and true.

Buffy seasons five and six should be arriving shortly. I love "Fool for Love" and of couse, "Once More With Feeling." I had forgotten all about "Normal Again." I cannot wait to re-watch that one, oh my dear sweet lord. I get the feeling that certain elements of S6 will hit much closer to home upon second viewing.

Doo doo doo. Hungry. I had the best sandwich ever yesterday-- fresh mozzarella, basil, and tomato on olive oil-brushed foccacia. I think I'm going to have to recreate that soon, because I've been craving more ever since.
