Free Will Astrology for the week of September 1st
My thoughts are all a-jumble. As a result, this post is rather disjointed.
Virgo:: You have weathered a turning point in your relationship with darkness, and will never again be tempted by its strange attractions. Did you hear what I said? You have had your last encounters with hellish monsters that unleash torment for the fun of it. You will never again get mixed up with events that resemble crawling through caverns filled with the souls of the damned. In the future, you may on occasion have weird dreams about owls and spiders and snakes, but they will be good weird. Congrats, Virgo.
Dear Rob Bresny,
I wish I were as optimistic as you seem to be. I have miles to go before I sleep.
Yours,
Christina

interdictor is writing a war-zone blog from New Orleans. I've been sitting here going "oh... my... god." I can't comprehend. See for yourself:
"It is a zoo out there though, make no mistake. It's the wild kingdom. It's Lord of the Flies. That doesn't mean there's murder on every street corner. But what it does mean is that the rule of law has collapsed, that there is no order, and that property rights cannot and are not being enforced. Anyone who is on the streets is in immediate danger of being robbed and killed. It's that bad."
sunfell has a list of all non-Dominionist charities that benefit Katrina's victims. Do what you can.
So, the Halloween update is live from the lab, with a slew of charity scents to benefit the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
I'm excited about the Pumpkin Patch set:
Pumpkin with apple cider and mulling spice. (Oh my damn.)
Pumpkin with cocoa, hazelnut and walnut.
Pumpkin and pomegranate.
Pumpkin with sandalwood and orris.
Pumpkin with five woods, English ivy and galangal root.
Samhain 2005 is a definite re-order, and I liked Dia De Los Muertos last year as well. Sugar Skull will not be re-ordered, as it smelled delicious in the imp, but like maple syrup on my skin. I will probably hunt down an imp, though, to test this year's variation. Trick or Treat sounds great-- it will probably be to me what Sugar Skull is to the rest of the world. Devil's Night will be wondrous provided the booze note isn't too strong.
The 'po girl in me is ecstatic that "A Demon in My View," BPAL's Poe-inspired LE line, will be around until January. Some of the scents sound great, but a lot of them are floral, which means they will most likely not work on me. I'll have time to track down imps and then decide if I want more. I ordered Evening Star, and will want to try Dreamland, The Haunted Palace, The Sleeper, and Spirits of the Dead.
And Rappacini's Garden looks better than expected. I ordered an imp of one of the newest floral catalogue blends-- Shadow Witch Orchid. Orchid does work on my skin, and some of the more herbaly blends may as well. There's going to be many new RG scents in the next update, so I'll hold off on ordering those until then.
Okay. I hope my BPAL on the brain doesn't annoy anyone. I've been considering making a separate journal for my scent ponderings. Then again, that seems like so much work. Hmm.
