"Hummus is Yummus!"
I had a good weekend. I caught up with Heather, Ashley, and Aster for Veronica Mars, hummus (which, according to Aster, "is yummus!"), and some good 'ol fashioned car-swiping fun. There was fabulous gelato, and even a nice, hard backrub. Sadly, the thing about having the most insane schedule ever and no car means I feel like a big 'ol mooch who's barely around, but I do try, when I can.
Aster and I had a good, long "we should totally be asleep right now" talk about life, exes, reluctancy to use labels, and sex (and embarrassing moments. Ahem). I'm one of those girls who has lots of acquaintances but few true friends. On one hand, I've been told that I'm intimidating, but on the other, it takes awhile for me to let someone in, and I'm very picky. Aster is one of those people who gets me, because in many respects, we're incredibly similar. So similar, in fact, that I'd say that's been the only source of contention in our friendship. We're both highly-opinionated alpha females, and that's pretty much been the only thing that I can remember us having an issue with. It's such a relief to have unfiltered, uncensored conversation and not be judged.
Hopefully, I'll be able to link up with the girls for Rac's birthday after a required batchelorette party next Saturday night. And then Sunday, Sky comes back and I'll probably tackle him to the ground and hug on him until all nearby bystanders vomit at the saccharine-ness of it all. But again, to reiterate, hanging with the girls is good.
I've found that my 6/3 order will most likely ship on 8/24, due to a component issue. While I'm glad that Sara (the Lab's Correspondence Goddess) got back to me so quickly and honestly, the wait times as of late have been driving me insane. For the next few months, or at least until times start coming down, I'm going to try to make all acquisitions through the forum or on Lunar Oil days. This means that most likely, I'll be swapping/buying Snake Charmer and Geek through the forum, so I'll have to be on the lookout. I love the Lab to bits, and every personal interaction I've had with anyone associated with the Lab has been nothing less than stellar. The oils are the highest quality and most unique I've seen. But at a 2+ month turnaround time, I'm going to buy much more conservatively for awhile.
Speaking of scaling back, when that order does come in, I'm going to post a bunch of imps for sale. I went through my current stash and culled out 20, and there will be some more to come, that's for sure. I think that I'll offer them to my friendslist first at a slightly discounted price, and 48 hours after that, post them to the forum for sale. That way you guys have first crack, which is cool if you're new to BPAL and want to try things. The imps I pulled today were all 70% and up full, and they'll be priced accordingly. So, to reiterate, around Sept. 1st, expect a friends-only sale post.
Thunderstorms need to start soon. It's far, far too hot in my neck of the woods, and we could benefit from some cool, slashing rain.
