Hey!

Madrigals Correction!
My madrigals troupe will be performing for free in Little Baker Chapel at McDaniel College on Tuesday, April 26th at 7:30pm.

Other than that, I got the following letter in my mailbox today:

_________________________________________

Dear Christina,

On Sunday May 1st, at 2:00 p.m. in Baker Memorial Chapel, McDaniel College will conduct the Senior Investiture and Honors Convocation. Graduating students will be honored for achievement in academics, athletics, and leadership.

I am happy to let you know that you will be receiving an award. Of course, we are hoping that you will attend. If, for some reason, you are unable to be there, would you please stop by my office to let Ann Thomas know. Light refreshments will be served.

Sincerely,
Thomas M. Falkner
Provost and Dean of the Faculty

So. Neat. But what award will it be? Probably a formal recognition of the Magna Cum Laude thing. Ohhhh, the suspense!

Edit: Okay, probably not the Magna Cum Laude thing. Dr. Mary just called to poke around for a few answers to questions, which means it's most likely an English department award. I am intrigued.

ANGER
1. Who did you last get angry with? My sister.
2. What is your weapon of choice? Sarcasm and cutting words.
3. Would you hit a member of the opposite sex? Yes. I've gotten into one fistfight with a guy because he hit me first. I also roughed up someone else because he physically threatened my significant other at the time. If it means defending either myself or someone close to me, I'll knock you on your ass, and I don't care who you are.
4. How about of the same sex? If they hit me first, yes. I don't provoke physical fights.
5. Who was the last person who got really angry at you? Most likely, Mike.
6. Do you keep grudges, or can you let them go easily? It depends on the offense. If it's something small-- water under the bridge. If it's something major, they can stick around for years. I'll be polite, congenial. But I won't forget.

SLOTH
1. What is one thing you're supposed to do daily that you haven't done in a long time? Kept track of my bank balance.
2. What is the latest you've ever woken up? I've woken up at all hours of the day.
3. Name a person you've been meaning to contact, but haven't: An acquaintance about some basic Reiki training.
4. What is the last lame excuse you made? "Uh. I'm... uh, really busy. How about in a few weeks?"
5. Have you ever watched an infomercial all the way through (one of the long ones...)? No.
6. How many times did you hit the snooze button on your alarm clock today? Not at all, but I did lie in bed for an extra half-hour.

GLUTTONY
1. What is the greatest amount of alcohol you've had in one sitting/outing/event? Three margaritas, a martini, two shots, a glass of champagne, and bits and bobs of various other things. Yep, I paid for it.
2. Have you ever used a commercial diet program? No.
3. Do you prefer sweets, salty foods, or spicy foods? All three. It depends on my mood.

LUST
1. How many people have you seen naked (not counting movies/family)? More than I can count, but it's not necessarily been sexual. For instance, I have done lots of performances where people change backstage.
2. How many people have seen YOU naked (not counting physicians/family)? Uh. Probably about seven or so, because my friends tend to be not so uptight (for instance, I dye my hair in the nude as not to ruin my clothes). Plus the patrons of a strip joint on one particular night, and an art class. I'm not uptight about my body.
3. Have you ever caught yourself staring at the chest/crotch of a member of your gender of choice person during a normal conversation? Once or twice.
4. Have you "done it"? Echoing Heather, "What, are we twelve?" No, I'm not a virgin.
5. Have you ever been propositioned by a prostitute? No.
6. Have you ever had to get tested for an STD or pregnancy? HAD to? No. Gotten tested anyway? At least once a year.

GREED
1. How many credit cards do you own? One.
2. What's your guilty pleasure store? BPAL.
3. If you had $1 million, what would you do with it? Pay off student loans, set aside college money for my siblings, buy a nice townhouse. And then probably get some new clothes.
4. Would you rather be rich, or famous? Rich. I don't know how I'd do with paparazzi. I'd probably go to jail for taking someone out.
5. Would you accept a boring job if it meant you would make megabucks? For a while, probably. A nest egg's worth something.

PRIDE
1. What one thing have you done that you're most proud of? I'm good at excelling at practically anything I put my mind to.
2. What one thing have you done that your parents are most proud of? College, I guess.
3. What thing would you like to accomplish in your life? Travel, see things. Write a well-received book. Have a daughter.
4. Do you get annoyed by coming in second place? I think it depends on how hard I worked for whatever the honor is.
5. What did you do today that you're proud of? Got a letter saying I'm getting some kind of award.

ENVY
1. What item (or person) of your friends would you most want to have for your own? Racheal's travel experience.
2. Who would you want to go on "Trading Spaces" with? Echoing Heather: I would go on While You Were Out. Duh. Andrew Dan-JUMBO. Hellooooo. Except for Evan Farmer. Oh Evan. Marry me. Or at least let's have hot sex. How's about a three-way with Andrew? :)
3. If you could be anyone else in the world, who would you be? Maybe Sandra Bullock. She's cool, down-to earth, rich, generous, and she owns really nice dresses.
4. Have you ever been cheated on? Not that I know of. Oh, wait. Yes, once. Kind of. It's complicated.
5. Have you ever wished you had a physical feature different from your own? Smaller breasts, please.

4. Do you believe in magic? Yes.
5. Have you ever said the words to a prayer and not meant it? Yep, I do it as a sign of respect when I attend church with my family.
6. Do you believe that anyone could be perfect? No.

HOPE
1. Did you get everything you wanted over the last holiday season? Everything? Isn't that greedy? No, but I got some cool things.
2. Regarding your future, what is the best thing you could hope for? Love and self-confidence. An abiding sense of hope.
3. Do you let yourself get your hopes up for something even if you know that there is a large chance of failure? I try not to. Sometimes, it just doesn't work.
5. Have you ever bought a lottery ticket? I've received them.
6. Do you gamble? No.

FORTITUDE
1. What are you most afraid of? Leading a miserable life of corporate servitude.
2. What did you do today that was really brave? Nothing yet.
3. Who is your favorite super hero, and why? Buffy, because she represents the kick-ass qualities I admire in a woman. Or at least she did seasons 1-3.
4. Would you put your life in danger to rescue someone? Yes.
5. If you were to face the Wizard, would you want more courage, more brains, or more heart? Heart.

2. If they reinstituted the draft (for both genders), would you go, or would find some way out of it? I don't know how I would deal with killing someone over something I disagreed with, so it depends.
3. Do you support capital punishment (the death penalty)? If the crime can be proven with DNA evidence, I am generally okay with it.
4. Do you believe that Dubya is rightfully President of the USA? Grah. That is all I will say about that. Is 4 years up yet?
5. What was your favorite media circus trial? Ugh. Just... ugh.
6. Have you ever written a letter to a politician? Yep. Barbara Mikulski (D - MD) rocks my socks.

4. Have you ever put anything on layaway or used an installment plan? Not yet.
5. What's your preferred method of paying for things? Debit card.
6. Tell us one thing you wish you hadn't let yourself do: I shouldn't have kissed Rachel. It was more trouble than it was worth.
7. Do you feel that you obsess over things? Not in general, but I have my moments

PRUDENCE
1. Who is the wisest person you know? I don't know, really. Dr. Mary, maybe.

3. Do you take advice when it's given? I follow my gut.
4. What area are you wisest in? Wisdom that comes from observation, I think.
