Philly picture post

A brief pictorial of the Redhead Brigade's trip to Philadelphia, city of, ahem, brotherly love. Heather and I took these pictures.

Independence Hall, birthplace of the Declaration of Independence.
The inside is much, much smaller than I had expected.

Clockwise: 1. We are so cheesy. 2. Good advice, in and out of the bedroom. 3. Hey, it's a bell of some kind. Do you think it's important or something? 4. Benjamin Franklin's grave.

The Philadelphia Museum of Art: 1. The Dali exhibit was very neat. I particularly liked the holograph of Alice Cooper's brain. 2. Racheal did the Rocky running up the stairs thing. She is very cheesy. 3. Among my favorite things was this Buddhist temple, as well as a Hindu shrine with the most amazing energy, and also a Chinese imperial throne room. 4. The main entrance.

This is my new favorite picture of Racheal ever. As she completed her run up the stairs, she pumped her little fairy fists in the air whilst proclaiming, "Rocky was a pussy!" Little children behind her clapped her on.

The view of central city from the museum stairs.

This is a reconstruction of a medieval cloister, complete with the moisture of an ancient stone fountain and an impressive gate. It felt holy to me, soothing.

South Street is one of the most interesting shopping places I've encountered. There are jewellers, occult shops, punk boutiques, kitchy eateries, and Starbucks all in a row. 1. The sign. 2&4. We went into this incredible little shop that was filled wall to wall with Mexican and Indian ephemera. Cloths, resin jewellery, musical instruments, rows upon rows of Dia De Los Muertos figurines. It was amazing. 3. These flowers are so incredibly gorgeous. They should sell them around here and I would buy bunches.

Souvenirs from South Street's Condom Kingdom. Yes, that's an edible G-string. I found it too much of a novelty to pass up. I did like Condom Kingdom's sister store, The Mood, though. Lots of interesting lover's games and other fun things. I'd like to go back there some time as there were many things I was eyeing. Also, Heather presented me with a button that reads, "Sorry I missed church. I was busy practicing witchcraft and becoming a lesbian." Perfection.

Various group shots, some including Noble, our Collective Boyfriend. The overwhelmingly yellow one was taken in the bathroom of The Pub restaurant, which freakishly reminded us of The Shining.

We got our palms read for $5 on one of our walks. Heather made me take this picture, as it reminded her of The Wizard of Oz.

The Jersey Shore at low tide on a very windy day.

Heather took this final shot of me wandering up the shore in search of shells.

THE END.

Thank you to all you well wishers. I'm going to be alright. Someone who violates privacy like that does not deserve my tears. Strangely, I'm not angry. It passed with the tears. It also occurs to me that in our discussions about what it would be like to break up, I said that I would likely start seeing someone right off the bat. It helps me to not be depressed if I'm keeping myself busy, if I'm learning new things and exploring new interests. On more than one occasion, Mike asked that if I did so, I not tell him. So there you go. There's nothing else I can say other than damned if you do, damned if you don't. I'm terribly sad that it had to end the way it did, but it was time. I certainly won't be made to feel like this violation of my privacy was my fault. That said, well wishes. This will resolve the way it is supposed to.
