My room

My room is finally decorated and situated.

I'm going with kind of a French vintage feel. Lots of colors in seafoam greens and carnelian reds, with bright splashes of orange. Plus scantily-clad women. Scantily-clad women are key.

The theme continues with the Mucha seasons above my altar, but ends with the "Red Hot Riding Hood" posterette given to me by egosomnio. You can't see them, but above all of that, close to the ceiling, is another pentacle print by Noble, plus two zen pictorials on Simplicity and Beauty.

Around my calender are Goddess tarot cards that work nicely as archetypal reminders. They were given to me by Heather and Rac, and they're beautifully rendered. A lot of my RA training stuff is also up-- kind words and the like. Also there is the signed Angelina photo that Anna gave me.

Fishies! And the bookshelf I painted myself. Fear not for Scout's water-- it's the fungal remover. His fungus is slowly receeding, but he's due for another medicine dose later tonight.

Boring bed.

My mother hand-stitched this Asian butterfly. It's so intricate and beautiful.

This painting was done by a friend and former co-worker, Jessica Watson. Her work is so vivid and interesting. This one reminds me of how I feel when I'm in my city on a warm summer night full of potential. I hope to own some more of Jessi's stuff in the near future.

This is my room during the day, with white sunlight streaming in.

And this is my room at night, with comforting soft white lights twinkling. I need to retain this calm.

Also, I received a summons to the campus's main desk today. Waiting for me were beautiful Stargazer Lilies, in a vase. No name was included in the card. No one I've asked is fessing up. Aster seems to think that the numbers under the short message may very well be secret code, so maybe the CIA is secretly testing me. :) Whoever you are, I'd like to know, so fess up. I won't be effusive, but I want to know. Thank you. They did help, and they smell wonderful. Thank you, thank you so much.

The mass this morning went as well as can be expected. The incense, the response of the congregation was so grounding, comforting. And I'm so proud of Mark. He spoke well and with conviction. His brother would be proud.
