Four little bettas, all in a row

You already know Sushi. He got a new plant and has been flaring continually since I brought the other three home. He's also been giving me dirty looks. But he's also been swimming around a lot, so I hope they'll keep him active. If he starts to show fatigue or gets stress sick, I'll move him so he can't see the others, but as of now, he seems okay. I'm going to move him into a bigger bowl soon so he can have a hidey-hole to chill in. I love his bubble nests, so we'll se if he makes any with other males near.

This is Sashimi, and he's a gorgeous shade of red. He's got some crowntail traits going, too, and beautiful long red fins.

I haven't named this one yet. Though you can't see it from the picture, he's as deep a red as Sashimi, but when he swims under the light, he has turquoise shimmering along the top of his body and his top fin. He looks different every time I look at him. He's really small, very feminine and the most graceful of the four. I think I'll name him Tulip, or some other name, because he reminds me of a tiny flower. Of course, I can always say I named him after Jimmy the Tulip. ETA: I picked a name- Sasha la Tulipe.

I almost didn't buy Underdog. He's a short tail, and he was very sickly in the shop. He was an unhealthy shade of brown, and I absolutely could not leave the shop without taking him home. His fins are almost like a female's, and he can only wiggle around to get where he's going, not so much glide like the rest of them. He's seeming more active in his new bowl, and he likes to wiggle into tiny spaces. When he gets better, he'll probably be mostly iridescent turquoise, we'll see how it goes. The bottle behind him is Melafix. I got some to have on hand in case any of my fish get sick, and I gave Underdog a half dose to repair some light fin damage. When I buy Sushi a bigger bowl, Underdog will inherit Sushi's current one. As Underdog is the smallest, he got the smaller bowl temporarily. ETA I've given Underdog a permanent name: Scout.
Ghost will be my fifth and final betta, as soon as the shop gets more white bettas in. I hope they get more like the one I saw today-- pale white with long fins and pinkish purple splotches. The store owner is taking that one home. :) But when I get Ghost, I already have fake plants picked out-- clear white, of course!
