Memeage - The LJ Meme

1. Your LiveJournal user name & what it means:

Sihaya was Paul's secret name for Chani in Frank Herber's Dune. I thought that it was absolutely beautiful, especially as it means "desert springtime" among other religious implications. I paired it with my favorite number- 9.

2. On a scale of 1-10 (10 being the highest) how well does your LiveJournal represent who you actually are?

Seven, maybe. It's got a lot of the day to day and most of the thoughts, but I can be very sarcastic, and that rarely comes through. Also, there is so much about life that you simply cannot capture in words. My journal is an honest place, but words rarely capture the essence of a person.

3. How much about your life do you post to LJ?</b>

Highlights of the day, on days that I have the internet. Some more private things go in a written journal or apear in my journal heavily filtered.

4. Is there anything you refuse to post about?

I don't think so. Not topic-wise, anyway. However, unformed ideas or things too close to the vest need to be mulled over before I post them.

5. On a scale of 1-10 how interesting do you think your own journal is to others?

6, maybe? A lot of the day-to-day is skippable, but occasionally I Think Deep Thoughts or post Really Pretty Things.

6. Has anyone ever joined LJ because of you?

Yeah, a bunch of my IRL friends now have LJs as a way of communicating.</b>

7. What proportion of your posts are friends only?

25%. A lot of my recent entries have been friends-only.

8. What is your favorite interest on LJ?

Autumn leaves.

9. How often do you post in communities, and did you ever start your own?

I post about 10% of the time in communities. I have a few of my own... including mcdanielcollege, the one closest to home. I'm in the process of working on a book review community that will hopefully see daylight by next week.

10. How often do you respond to/comment on other people's journals?

I'm the world's worst commenter. I often start out with actual thoughts but end up with "...and I like cheese." I then feel silly and delete it. So mostly I respond to trivial things, but I'm making an effort to prolong discussion recently.

11. Do you prefer to write in your journal or read other journals?

Both? People are on my friendslist for a reason.

12. Have you ever had something mean said to you or been stalked, harassed or got into an argument/flame war on LJ (or did it to someone else)?

Of course. You take it with a grain of salt and go on. People who start flame wars on the internet are not emotionally balanced people.

13. Have you ever banned someone from your journal?

Yep. Everytime I get a stupid community promo in my journal from someone I don't know.

14. Who are your three favorite LJ friend(s) and why?

Umm. How on earth could I narrow that down?? I think that I'll modify this one. I'm randomly picking three people with eyes closed and I'll say why they're on my list.

pawsfurme:: Bridget is one of my highschool friends, masseuse extroardinare. She's a great listener, and if I don't say nice things, she'll show you all the world's worst blackmail pictures.

efface:: Winter is honest to a fault. Her journal is edgy, full of attitude, and filled with beautiful pictures and witty anecdotes.

thebratqueen:: Fic writer extraordinare. We share things in common other than fandom, and she often provokes the previously referenced Very Deep Thoughts.

15. Of all of the people on LJ you know of, who is the most like you?

There's nobody like me!
Just kidding. I mean, this is also a faulty question. All of my friends are on my list because they are like me to a degree. I have fairly-- specific-- interests, and if you're on my list, you're one of the people who *get* them, and by extension, get *me*.

16. Why are you most likely to add someone to your friends list?

High quality of writing, range of subject matter, good balance of real-life etries and interest-related entries. Pretty photos/artwork/graphics don't hurt.

17. Do you automatically add friends to your journal if they add you first?

Nope. Not at all.

18. What is the most likely reason you wouldn't add someone to your friends list?

Fake journals; high quiz content; short, meaningless entries; not very many interests in common; boring writing; inability to understand the LJ-cut. What? I'm picky!

Other people, who don't fit the above criteria-- I just don't have time to read a bunch of journals! There are select people who have me friended whom I do read, they're just not on my list. Those are journals I have bookmarked or read once a week/month etc...

19. Is your "significant other" on LJ?

Yes, although he hardly ever posts!

20. Have you ever wanted to meet someone on LJ?

I have met people through LJ, and I want to meet many more!
