I cannot resist a book meme, for I am Ready McReadsalot.

1. Take five books off your bookshelf.
2. Book #1 -- first sentence
3. Book #2 -- last sentence on page fifty
4. Book #3 -- second sentence on page one hundred
5. Book #4 -- next to the last sentence on page one hundred fifty
6. Book #5 -- final sentence of the book
7. Make the five sentences into a paragraph

When Ian came into Kerry's room to ask for a favor, it never occured to her that her four-year old brother could ask her to do something that might get her killed. What on earth induced her to behave as she did, I never could understand. It couldn't have been a sham-- she was a lotus-blossom princess. He held a fine golden chain, at the end of it dangled a key.

Haha. That almost works.

Book #1 - Companions of the Night; Vivian Vande Velde. I borrowed this book from the library so often in my teen years that I finally bought it when I moved to college. It's comfort reading.

Book #2 - The Picture of Dorian Gray; Oscar Wilde. I love love love this book. The imagery...

Book #3 - Dune; Frank Herbert. Kind of a nondescript little sentence.

Book #4 - Girl Goddess #9; Francesca Lia Block. I descovered her last year. I wish I'd known her sooner.

Booke #5 - The Secret Circle, book one; L.J. Smith. Another YA nostalgia book (they're half my shelf). This one deals with hereditary witches in New Salem. Despite the fantastical elements, the stuff here is relatively researched. It definitely sparked an interest to know more about the real thing.

EDIT:: Eeee! As I'm on campus for much of the summer, I browsed the Westminster library and found --shockingly-- a lot of interesting Craft books that I've wanted to read. Eeee! I've got to get me a library card, stat!
