I have 4 pages done. I think. I don't have word anymore, and I need to get the re-install disc.

asphyxia:
8 Reasons Why People Procrastinate::
1. fear of failure: the main reason people procrastinate is fear. procastinators fear they'll fall short b/c they dont have the requisite talents or skills...they would rather be seen as lacking in effort than lacking in ability.
2. perfectionism: procrastinators tend to be perfectionists - and theyre in overdrive b/c theyre insecure. people who do their best b/c they want to win don't procrastinate; those who feel they must be perfect to please others put things off.
3. self-control: impulsivity may seem diametrically opposed to procrastination, but both can be part of a larger problem: self-control. people who are impulsive may not be able to prioritize intentions....so while writing a term paper you break for a snack and see a spill in the refrigerator, which leads to cleaning the entire kitchen.
4. punitive parenting: children of authoritarian parents are prone to procrastinate. people with such parents postpone choices b/c their decisions are so frequently criticized - the person may procrastinate as a form of rebellion.
5. thrill-seeking: some procrastinators enjoy the adrenaline "rush."
6. task-related anxieties: procrastination can be associated with specific situations. procrastinators tend to avoid the difficult and boring.
7. unclear expectations: ambiguous directions and vague priorities increase procrastination.
8. depression: the blues can lead to or exacerbate procrastination - and vice versa. several symptoms of depression feed procrastination. decision-making is another problem. b/c depressed people cant feel much pleasure, all options seem equally bleak, which makes getting started difficult and pointless.
Half of those totally apply to me.
Okay. I'm gunning for another page and a half before bed. I can get 4 hours of sleep, take my exam, finish up the paper, do my jury, and then nap from 5-8. Yesh. Comments answered tomorrow.
Edit:: Dude. I have a title now that sounds way too smart for the content of the paper.
