Hello! I'm not dead!
Thank you, thank you to the many of you who wished me well.
I actually read all of your get well comments on Mike's computer Saturday night while I was waiting to be admitted to the hospital. The pains got to be pretty bad, and by mid-afternoon on Saturday, Mike stopped me in my tracks after my umpteenth trip to the bathroom and told me that we were going to the hospital, so pack a bag. He and my parents sat with me for 6 hours in the ER where I had blood drawn, urinalysis, an upper GI sonogram... they even gave me painkillers through a needle in the back of my hand (um, ow). I have acute gastritis complicated by a smaller issue. So, I'm on an antibiotic, plus Nexium. I was also given percoset (sp?) for the pain, but since one pill of that hit me like a bus, I think I'll stick to Aleeve. They also proscribed something for nausea, but to be quite frank, it's cheaper just to puke. Today was my follow-up with my personal doc, and I'm finally back on campus.
I did, however, insist on coming back last night for my opera scenes performance. It went quite well, even though I felt quite horrible by the end of it from all the running and singing. As of now, I'm not doubled over, and things should steadily get better. I'm gonna walk down to Rite Aid tomorrow to get the rest of my Nexium prescription filled, and I'll be well on my way to not feeling like crapola.
Awesome.
