I had a very painful night.
I woke up at about 4:30 am with the worst chest pains that I have ever felt. It was kind of like extreme, pulsating heartburn, only dead center in my chest. It hurt too much for me to really move much. It eventually died down, and I dozed until the pain woke me up again at about 6:30. I barely made it to the bathroom before I got sick on an empty stomach. I think I sat on the bathroom floor for about fifteen minutes before my hands stopped shaking. I went downstairs and curled up in my papazan chair until about 9-- I was able to drink about half a cup of fruit juice, and the pain began to dull a bit. I seriously considered waking one of the girls up for a ride to the hospital before I realized how mortified I'd be if it just turned out to be gas or something.
So I went to see a nurse this morning-- she put me on Nexium until Monday, as she thinks I have gerd. What a strange name for a condition. The Nexium won't kick in for a few hours, so I've been popping Tums. I'm feeling better, but overall, I should go lay down for awhile. I might get a muffin.
I'm on duty tonight, but at least I mostly cleaned my bedroom before bed. I cleaned my Beltane altar and all that. So, I'm going to go curl up until this stuff kicks in.
