Where is Ted Schmidt when you need him?

I'm upset and kind of nervous-- I'd appreciate any advice, or maybe just some reassuring.

So, I got a call late Wednesday night. The taxes my mother told me she was taking care of, the one I gave her W2s for a month ago? Were not done.

I'd never done taxes before on my own. Naturally, I kinda freaked. But I decided to e-file through H&RBlock, as I hear that's the simplest way to do it.

I filed, and all was well, right?

I got an email this morning saying that my taxes were rejected b/c someone else claimed me as a dependent, after I'd asked and she said it was okay to claim independent. Maybe my father claimed me, I don't know. They used to take turns and all that.

Am I screwed? My first filing was on time, does that apply? And should I just hand fill it in and mail it now, anyway? I'm hoping because I don't have a return nor a balanced owed that everything should be fine.

Edit: My mom claimed me. After, you know, she said I could claim independent earlier in the year. On the upper hand, she's going to fix everything. Since I filed on time, that's okay. I'm going to ask Mike to drop all my info off Sunday night, and she'll look it over and send it in Monday. And crisis should be averted.
