Still feeling a bit spread thin. I've been really enjoying writing the beauty blog, and even though I probably won't keep up my post-a-day pace, I have already noticed the willingness to take more risks with my beauty routine. So that's a plus.

I re-dyed my hair last week.

Colorful hair!Colorful hair!

It's still bleeding purple like nobody's business, and staining my hands every time I touch it. Oh SFX, you are no joke.

Work wise, I'm putting the finishing touches on a mostly-earring update, preparing for a lot of custom work, and getting my ducks in a row for Spoutwood. They are expensive ducks.

Anyhow, if you are a lover of labradorite, I am running my periodic "pick your piece" type custom work thinger.

Group shot

The labradorite in this batch is photographed/described here, and if there's no note from me saying it's reserved, you get to tell me what you want done with it.

A few weeks ago, I finished Erin Morgenstern's The Night Circus, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Very engrossing imagery. I had some slight critiques of the actual plot-- specifically the ending. It got a little bit close to hand-wavy "stuff is happening that everyone else knows about but I will not explain to the reader" for my taste, but I liked the rest of it so very much that I let it go. Smiled at the BPAL mention in the author acknowledgements.

TV-wise, I finished the latest installment of Downton Abbey. WHYYYYYY? [Spoiler (click to open)]I know that Dan Stevens wanted out, but Trollbait Fellowes totally out-Jossed Joss. "MATTHEW AND MARY ARE YOUR OTP? WELL HA HA, YOUR NEW OTP IS BABIES + DEATH." Such a downer.

I'm intently watching FaceOff, which is seriously the best "reality" thing on TV in years, and am half-heartedly keeping up with the current season of US Being Human. It's a lot better than the first two seasons-- there's good character interactions, consistent motives, and a moving plot-- but it still pales in comparison to the first three seasons of the UK version. The US vampire still doesn't have any romantic chemistry with anyone with ladyparts, no matter how often they try to have him have ~moments~ with Sally. Nora should just go full on badass and leave Josh and Aiden in domestic bliss, forreals. And then The Walking Dead. Meh, the prison arc is not my favorite, and temporary insanity arcs aren't either.

In other news, yesterday I was a face model for psychopompous_9 demo-ing MAC products, and she gave me a very pretty smoky eye-- the first that's ever not made me look like I had either a black eye or was part panda. We're making plans to visit the Pre-Raphaelites at the National Gallery on the 16th. I am certain I will want to see them more than once.

That's all that's fit to print. It's a wet, unpleasant snow day, so I am staying in with coffee and silver wire. Hope you stay warm and dry!
