I got Kindle gift certificates from family this year. I am out of practice with the whole reading thing, because I have had no time to read for about three months now.
Rec me books! What was your favorite book you read this year? What books would you recommend I read? I like historical fiction, supernatural fiction, speculative fiction, fantasy, YA, historical non-fiction, and funny books. I do not like alien/dragon-oriented sci-fi (not sure why, but aliens bore me), sparkly vampires, and I can't deal with Super Dark Things right now. The world is dark enough at the moment, thankyouverymuch. And Lord help you if you rec me Robin McKinley. I like books that have actual endings. :)
In other news, even though I a) have not read in awhile because BUSY, and b) do like paper books for signing, mementos, and smelling, I really have enjoyed my Kindle. I am fickle sometimes, and I like having a library in my purse. Any conveyance for words and knowledge, anything that makes reading accessible to people-- be it paper or electronic-- is a good thing in my book. (In my book. Hah!)
