This week, I've sort of been in a time warp. I haven't so much been sleeping, working through the night while the house is quiet to finish the VMFA collection. Good news, it's 95% done. I really just have some polishing, tagging, and wire-rounding left to do. Anyhow, it's reminding me a lot of what I did when I was younger, when I could run on a few hours' sleep. Like many teenagers, I was basically nocturnal, falling asleep with the first rays of dawn. To add to the sense of déjà vu, Netflix just uploaded the entirety of Dawson's Creek, and I have been mainlining much in the way I have been inhaling coffee, which is to say probably at an entirely unhealthy rate. I'm halfway through S3, which means Jen is forever the best and Dawson is the literal worst. Plus Pacey forever. It feels strange to be watching a show where the teenagers don't yet have cell phones.

Yesterday, I got my Birchbox. It was full of awesome stuff, but the one iffy thing was a sample of Taylor Swift's perfume, Wonderstruck. Now, even though I recognize that she's quite talented and am remarkably jealous of her hair, I do however despise pretty much everything T Swift chooses to be. Still, I must, as you all know, Smell All The Things. And wow. It smelled like being 15, watching Savage Garden videos after school. And if you were a 15 year old girl who ever watched a Savage Garden video and dreamed of marrying Darren Hayes so you could share eye makeup and dish about your boyfriends, you know exactly what I mean. It was like stepping into the wayback machine.

So, I've reverted to high school sleeping patterns, watching the same show I did in high school, and now even smelling like a high schooler.

Then this shows up on my FB feed:

High School Flashback
Me! Before I had boobs!
(Pretty sure this was taken right after my senior recital.)

An old friend put up tons of pictures from high school at Baltimore School For The Arts. How's that for timing? It's like the universe is trying to tell me something, only I'm not exactly sure what.

A few more pics.Collapse )

Man, there's nothing like seeing pictures of you in high school to make you never want to eat again. Wow.

I don't know where I'm going with this. It's just strange headspace and I thought I should acknowledge it.
