1. Read more. This was also a goal last year, and I made baby steps towards it, but ultimately did not read as much as I'd like. My new e-reader should help with this.

2. Sculpt my body. Seeing as general weight loss resolutions almost NEVER work, I am going with specifics here. I would like to see subtle muscle definition in my arms, shoulders, and upper back. I would also like to perk up the rear. Generally speaking, I have learned to embrace my hourglass, but an hourglass is a difficult shape in that it goes soft quite quickly. I need to devise a semi-regular workout routine that focuses on core strength and gentle toning. And that does not involve running or a treadmill. YICK! I will never stick to a routine that includes either of those. I was thinking maybe to get back into martial arts, since I tend to benefit from structure.

3. Return email correspondence within 48 hrs. I am terrible about reading my email in the wee hours of the morning and saying "I'll answer that in the morning." Because by morning, I'll have forgotten it, in my sleep-deprived state. This needs to change.

4. Remember to wash my face before I fall asleep. I am also terrible at this. I have a tendency to wake up with raccoon eyes and I know it's not good for my skin. Truly, I have to get on a regular skincare routine in general, and laugh more. I want more laugh lines and less squinting at tiny little bits of metal lines when I'm older!

5. Budget money for important business purchases. Things on my list: new kiln (I have my eye on a petite $189 kiln), and a new camera. Nothing fancy. Just something with good color balance and a good macro lens.

6. Continue to develop my soldering skills. I would like to get precise enough to solder sterling filigree.

7. Drink more water. I know I am often dehydrated because unless I'm sweating, I never remember to drink water. Coffee is not water.

8. GET OUT OF THE HOUSE MORE. I work too much. I have a lot on my plate. But sometimes I have to get it together and go for a walk, or take the metro into the harbor, or otherwise get out of the studio.

9. Work on at least two solo dance pieces. I performed my first solo this year-- a sword piece, no less-- and I want to create at least two more pieces to have ready for solo opportunities. And one of them has to be a softer, more gentle piece-- my two defaults tend to be badass + sword or joyful and vigorous. I want to work on something that is introspective and meditative but also technically interesting.

10. Travel more. International travel is probably going to be out of the budget for a bit, but I want to see Salem this year, or more of the SouthWest!
