So, tonight I hennaed my hair. I mixed up a 50/50 batch of henna and cassia (because I wanted a lighter, more coppery stain), strand-tested (all good), and then slopped it on.
The results? My roots are a lovely Irish red. My ends are nut brown. NO hint of red.
Not at all good. Considering I used a LOT of henna and thoroughly coated EVERYTHING, I am at a loss. The henna was going over other henna: same brand (mehandi's baq red kit), freshly bought.
What should I do? I don't really want to box dye (which I can presumably do after a strand test 'cause it's baq henna w/ no metallic salts), but this is not AT ALL what I wanted.
