I've been working turbo-time. For one, Bill, the owner of the shop where I work part-time, has been not feeling well lately. I've been on call to help out there more, should he need to go home and rest. He's 70 and has leukemia, and is scheduled for surgery soon. I forsee spending more time in the shop for the next few months.

On top of that, one of the local fine jewelers here has been passing along bits of repair work to me here and there. It's not much, but it's something.

To add to that pile, I have 50 items towards my next update done, with 20 of the more work-intensive pieces left to go. Supplies for those *should* arrive in the next few days. Hopefully an update next Thursday or Friday.

Yesterday was rather rollercoaster-y. My dance partner showed up for practice having seriously hurt her hand in my parking lot, so we were in the ER for several hours. She handled it like a champ once the percoset kicked in. So I'm sending lots and lots of love to her and hoping she's at home being coddled by her hubbins with lots of Bollywood flicks.

I am planning on having a very chill workday today. Buffy, season two. Resin pouring. Wirework. Hair dyeing. Tomorrow, I am making cinnamon spice pancakes for breakfast, before checking out a museum with madmoisellestar & woodspider. A good mix of nose to the grindstone & relaxation before next week gets heated up.

The color is called "sangria," and the model sports a lovely true red...

...my hair is now chestnut brown with russet highlights.

It's not a bad color. It just isn't what I was going for at all. And it'll probably morph after the next few washes, anyhow. In any case, in six weeks, I'll start the lightening process so that hopefully by year's end I'll be back to the strawberry blond I had at my wedding, which was super flattering. Baby steps, though. I'm trying to protect my hair from excess damage.
