Virgo:: In the course description for a fiction-writing class at Sarah Lawrence College, professor Mary LaChapelle encourages her students to practice the art of enchantment. "How do we avoid succumbing to safe and unoriginal decisions," she asks, "and aim to recognize and trust our more mysterious and promising impulses?" This happens to be an excellent question for you to keep in mind right now, Virgo, whether you're about to create something or are starting a new chapter in the epic story that is your life. (P.S. "If you cannot be a poet, be a poem," advises actor David Carradine.)

I would like to think I often work with the forces of enchantment. That, and I am currently in the business of avoiding safe and unoriginal decisions-- both in my work life and the options I've been pondering recently (hee!). I'd say that ties in nicely to "starting a new chapter in my life," wouldn't you say? :)

Okay, now to finish up some work. My aim is to stay very very warm and rest my voice today, as I am still feeling under the weather and sounding quite froglike. I mean, so far it's not too bad-- sore, swollen throat and a bit more ick in the sinus than usual. I fear this might be a prelude to more ick, but Emergen-C + relaxation + staying warm should help with that.

Okay, so I just did something tacky. I watched The Millionaire Matchmaker on Bravo (I was hoping for Top Chef, honest). Premise: third-generation matchmaker sets up cocky, condescending millionaires with hot young things based on the notion she can change them and make them see inner beauty. (PS, why do guys who look like rodents usually have the biggest egos?)

Anyhow. The star, Patti, then goes on to say (in choosing potential dates) "never choose a bisexual woman as the mother of your children. They could always leave you for another woman."

Guys. My face. FLAMES ON THE SIDE OF MY FACE. Also, see my icon. It was kinda like that.

I then wrote Bravo with a complaint. Dude. Straight women cheat on their partners all the damn time. How is a bisexual woman somehow more suspect just based on her sexual orientation? I am sick to death of the myth that bisexual women can't be honest and faithful. Or will somehow be bad mothers. AGH. FLAMES. FACE. YOU KNOW.

Anyhow, just throwin' that out there in case any of you wanted to send Bravo some mail, too.
