-- The time-change has hit me like a ton of bricks. Come 5:30, the sky is nearly dark and all I want to do is sleep. Or eat warm foods. Case in point, tonight's dinner, wherein I had soup and a little bit of mashed potatoes. I have still not been too adventurous in my food selections... the final gauze pad came out today and things are still a little bit tender. Not too bad, though. I only take the Vicodin when I wake up, because my jaw gets very stiff when I sleep. I was lucky enough that the dentist I had on Monday, Matthew, had a patient cancel on him and he was able to take me today. Considering he's local, I'm hoping that when he opens up his own practice, it'll be somewhere nearby. He's like the least-scary dentist ever, and after the trauma of the last two weeks, that's pretty appealing to me.
-- Tonight, I settle in with TV and beading. I've gotten a bunch of my Winter Holiday orders done ahead of time, which frees me to work on my update. Oh! Note! Tomorrow is the last day to send me Winter Holiday-deadline commissions!
-- Still, there is a mouse in my house. He is untempted by peanut butter, chocolate, or cheese in the no-kill trap. He likes to hang out under my bureau, which is so deep I cannot catch him. He likes to rustle the recycling at night. I can't find his nest or his entry point, but considering my room abuts the storage space, I'm pretty sure there must be a little hole in the roof or something. I began the massive Winter Cleaning of my area, but it hasn't made much difference. I am not for killing traps, generally, but I am to the point of impatience where I'm just about ready to ask to borrow a cat for a week.
-- GirlFishie is worrying me. She seems pretty lethargic lately and hasn't been overly interested in food or her usual flirting routine with BoyFishie. She was breathing pretty hard earlier but didn't exhibit any signs of any of the usual ailments-- parasites, velvet, ich, etc. I changed her water out and put in some stress coat, but she still seems to be acting oddly. Her breathing has calmed a bit, but mostly she's hanging at the bottom of her bowl and only coming up for a gulp of air. Until I can figure out what is going on, I guess the only thing to do is keep a closer eye on her. And keep fighting Dixie on the thermostat-- 62 degrees is not acceptable for either Anemic me or my pets.
-- Truly A++ cuddle with the boyfriend last night. It was so hard to get out of bed this morning. We fit together like puzzle pieces. Honestly, I don't think I've ever been this happy. He's a wonderful man and things only seem to keep getting better and better. My mother, who has pointedly never liked anyone I've dated (though she likes Ariel now that we're not dating), has started to suggest venues for a wedding. Oy.
