My pain-o-meter is lower than it's been since I was initially anesthetized for the surgery. Today was my THIRD follow-up visit, and I had the best dentist yet. I explained that the pain level management had gotten to be terribly difficult, and he had a looksee. a) The muscle, which was separated from the bone during the surgery, is finally starting to reattach. b) The gauze packing that had been in my jaw was way too long and had actually begun to impede the healing process, hence the extra pressure and discomfort, both against the bone and and against the muscle which was trying to heal. c) I am now on Vicodin, and packed with half the amount of gauze than I'd started with. Overall, it's a huge improvement, and I'm told I should be "out of the woods" by Wednesday night. Though it will take almost three months for the jaw to heal completely, I should only really feel the next few days. Thank the lord and pass the Old Bay chicken wings.

Also kinda funny: the dentist I had this time spent a good amount of time in Federal Hill, living in my old neighborhood, and now he lives in Pikesville. Weird. But seriously, he was great.

The next few days are going to be super busy. Tomorrow, I vote, then take Jason some chicken soup for lunch before running various errands. Wednesday, I have my second interview with Starbucks, a sit-down with my old boss at DDI to discuss a writing contract/retainer for about 10 hrs/week, and then my (hopefully final) dental visit. I have to do a massive bedroom clean in the next few days and prepare home office space.

But for most of tonight, I will be chilling out with a book and relaxing. No stress to my jaw, and plenty of vitamin C and zinc to ward off the cold that J's developing.

No, really.

This woman is so beyond insulting. I cannot imagine how she expects to have a united nation should she and McCain get elected (God(s) forbid). Their campaign has been full of divisive fearmongering and diversionary tactics of the vilest kind. So, given that I am a fairly liberal Democrat, I am now: a) not a "real" American, b) anti-America, c) "pro-Abortion" d) a Socialist and/or Marxist, e) Godless, and f) a friend to terrorists.

FUCK. OFF.

This is not the spirit of America. I can't wait to get into the voting booth tomorrow and make that abundantly clear.
