Friday: Palace of Wonders 'Evil Come, Evil Go Go' show-- undead-themed burlesque; Little Darlin' was my favorite of the dancers, but Miss Joule with flamey firey things for the win. One thing I've figured out about burlesque: it really is all about the pasties. Like little rhinestone skulls. The boy loved it and wore his creepy cat-eye (prescription!) contact lenses, which were both strikingly creepy and unsettlingly hot. Got to hang with tamnonlinear (and the zombies in her cleavage), plus Ariel. Got to formally meet Mab, Just Mab, after bumping into her at Tribal Cafe for over a year.

Saturday: Forewent Pride in favor of working on jewelry and being frustrated with my laptop. Watched tons of romantic comedies and was very productive. Ordered components for a very special run of necklaces-- four to start. They're not at all my usual style, but the Midsummer faeries got me. Jason had a bachelor party to attend, and he got in at 3am to regale me with stories about drunken coworkers, paintball glory, and strippers galore. I wish I'd been there, but I was glad to have had some pajama downtime.

Sunday: Jason and I got up and headed out to Catoctin National Park for a hike. On the way there, we stopped in Westminster for food, and totally bumped into Margie Boudreaux, one of my college advisors. I introduced him to Gaelic Storm, and he seemed to dig 'em. When we got to the park, we did the Wolf Rock and Chimney Rock circuit with a fair bit of off-trail hiking and climbing. There was a lot of 35 to 45 degree incline going on in the hiking bits. A lot of climbing rocks, too. A couple instances where I had to get a running start to jump over crevices, with the boy spotting me in case I tripped. He's 6'1", and I'm 5'5"-- the things that were pretty easy for him weren't so much for me, but it was a good challenge. We got up pretty high, and my fear of heights was mostly at bay, except in a couple of spots. It's always harder for me when I don't have a harness-- I just don't trust my upper body strength yet. On the plus, my new hiking boots are really great.

After hiking, we used his GPS to search for a place to get crabs, and found this awesome little crabshack right over the PA line. There was a solid 45 minutes of nothing but orgasmic sex noises as we had the first crabs and shrimp of the season, perfectly coated in Old Bay. We drove home listening to The Postal Service as the sun set, being all mushy and couple-y and hand-holdy and stuff. We stopped at The Cow in Glyndon on the way home, where I had this amazing cupcake-flavored gelato thing. J had to make a few calls after we showered, and I fell asleep with him rubbing my feet. It was pretty much the perfect day. I was half-surprised to wake up this morning with my soul still intact, to be honest.

Today: But I did wake up, curled up around my awesome boyfriend, and seriously people, pinch me 'cause I know I'm being That Girl. I'm looking forward to working on commissions after work today. Looks like thunderstorms in the evening. Perfect.
