On one hand, I had to wake up this morning, and I was really, really comfy. On the other, it's 51 degrees, so it appears that God answered my prayer to up the thermostat a few degrees. Spring is three weeks away-- light at the end of the tunnel. I heard birds this morning as I woke up.
Yesterday was hangout time with
tamonlinear, and we made brownies of ultimate ultimateness. Ghiradelli chocolate and raspberry jam overload. We even used raspberry dessert wine instead of water-- the result is moist, gooey brownies that didn't quite harden up all the way, but they're still incredibly rich and delicious. And I made icing out of blackberries, raspberry jam, butter, and confectioner's sugar. It is The Yum. It's also hot pink.
I'm steadily gaining on my commissions. Only two left! I also made some more gear stuff last night, as well as a gunmetal and labradorite necklace entitled "Not Yet Mutant Nor Ninja." When I post it, you'll see why. Abby was very amused. Realized that I am almost out of copper findings; emergency bead store trip scheduled for tomorrow or Wednesday. I'll have about 20 new pieces ready to go in the March update, and I'm aiming for March 12th for that.
I've been listening to Sigur Rós for the past few days. I need to pick up a few more of their albums and re-buy Ágætis byrjun on iTunes, as I lost my copy. I was listening to Takk... on my way to work this morning, and I thought to myself, "this is the musical equivalent of hope." So I wikied them, as I realized I knew fairly little about the band itself, and found this... Von, their first album, translates to "hope." Their made-up language, Volenska, translates to "Hopelandic." Also, from a synasthesia standpoint, their music is sky blue to me, with flashes of citrine-gold like sunshine. Funny how even with the language barrier, things make perfect sense.
