Merry Christmas everybody! I'm at work today. My boss gave us the choice between taking either Christmas Eve or New Year's Eve off, and as I'll be in NYC on NYE, I dragged myself in this morning. There are four of us here. The phones are silent. The direst task at hand is emptying the dishwasher and cleaning out the fridge from the open house. I plan to browse LJ, drink coffee, and try to catch up on my emails.

Christmas shopping: everything's done, except my father. I have no earthly idea what to get him. At all. Um, gift card? My giftswap stuffs are going out on Wednesday, with my cards, 'cause I'm fashionably late like that.

Oy. Gosh, I am sleepy. 4.5 hours of shuteye does not a coherent Christina make. I was up 'til the wee hours wrapping and bagging and packing. On the plus, though, Shaun and I went to see Sweeney Todd at the Charles last night, which was pretty good. I wasn't horrified by the singing. The Anthony was very lyrical, Johnny Depp was easy to watch even if this wasn't his best performance ever, and Helena Bonham Carter was her usual creepily awesome self. Also, I get the feeling that for Johanna, Tim Burton just decided on Christina Ricci in Sleepy Hollow v. 2.0. The resemblance was uncanny. And! Oh! Blink-and-you'll-miss-it Giles sighting!

Was somewhat less pleased with I Am Legend-- Will Smith did a great job of acting out how one breaks down without human interaction. The scenes of NYC without people were fascinating. But about halfway through the movie, the plot goes to hell, and the monsters, once seen clearly, are not at all frightening. Bad CGI-- they would have been much better off using real actors. I've seen better animation in video games, really. Anyway, the movie couldn't decide if it wanted to be psychological horror or a full-out action flick, and suffered pretty badly when it switched from point A to B.

Spent some time with my Don yesterday afternoon, too. We watched Love Actually while I made his rosary bracelet. I'll probably see him again before he leaves to go back home later this week, 'cause for some reason, his present hasn't arrived yet. BOO. Anyway, then he can actually get a good pic of me because when I'm still half asleep and wishing I were in PJs, I am not at my most photogenic. Hence my hiding from his camera. But he did snap one of me with my beads... puffy and sans makeup. Oh, the glamour!

Anywhoo, it's time to look vaguely busy. Merry Christmas to all who celebrate!
